Cheryl M. Agee

Maroa, IL - Cheryl M. Agee, 59, of Maroa, passed away at her home surrounded by her family on Sunday, March 22, 2026.

Cheryl Marie Miles was born on May 3, 1966, in Monticello, the daughter of Bruce Lee and Norma Lee Miles. On July 14, 1989, she married Woodrow Terrell Agee. He survives.

Cheryl graduated from the Maroa-Forsyth High School in 1984. She worked a few jobs before starting her career at Millikin University in the mailroom where she made all students and faculty feel welcome and loved, and at Ameren as a security officer. Her goal was to always support her family and be a friend to all those who knew her.

Her hobbies included watching her sons play sports, doing photography, and spending time with family and friends; she loved playing with her grandchildren.

Cheryl was a woman of strength, grace, and unwavering love for her family. Even in the face of her illness, she carried herself with resilience and a spirit that inspired everyone around her. She had a way of making people seen, valued, and deeply loved — whether through her kind words, her laughter, or simply her presence.

Along with her husband, surviving are her two sons, Andrew (Lauren) Agee and Aaron (Camilyn) Agee; two grandchildren, Ayden and Emma Agee; her father, Bruce Lee Miles; two sisters, Tammy (Bill) Rentmeister and Connie (Mike) Solimanto; one brother, Ed (Shelli) Miles; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins also survive.

She was preceded in death by her mother Norma Miles, sister Debbie Cook, and nephew Evan Workman.

Memorials may be made to the Maroa-Forsyth High School Baseball program.

Graveside services for Cheryl will be held on Saturday, April 25, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at the Maroa Township Cemetery, and will be followed by a celebration of life at the Maroa Community Center (119 W Main St, Maroa, IL 61756) at 12:00 p.m. Any and all are welcome to attend both. If you know Cheryl, she never turned anyone away and would like all to remember and celebrate her.

Ellen K. (Moberly) West

Ellen K. (Moberly) West, 78 of Clinton, IL passed away 10:09 P.M. March 28, 2026 at Gibson City Hospital, Gibson City, IL.

Services will be 11 AM Friday, April 3, 2026 at the Calvert Funeral Home, Clinton, IL with Brent Zastrow officiating. Burial will follow at Mausoleum Park Cemetery, Clinton, IL. Visitation will be 4 – 7 PM Thursday, April 2, 2026 at the funeral home.

Ellen was born January 18, 1948 in Clinton, IL the daughter of William “Bill” E. and Olive G. (Gibson) Moberly. She married Kenneth “Bill” West May 13, 1989 in Bourbonnais, IL. He passed away June 26, 2008.

Survivors include her brother, James “Jim” Moberly, Clinton, IL, stepchildren, Scott West, Buffalo, NY; Brian West, Buffalo, NY; Stephanie (David) Sawyer, Clarence, NY; David (Erin) West, Buffalo, NY, 9 step-grandchildren, Danielle Keitel; Joshua (Fiancée, Courtney Schott) West; Tyler (Julie) West; Nicolas West; Julianna West; Andrew Sawyer; Audrey Sawyer; Samuel West; Ruby West, step-great granddaughter, Emma West, and special friend & cousin, Kenova Hicks, Clinton, IL.

Ellen was preceded in death by her parents, grandparents, and great grandson, Everett West. 

Ellen graduated from the Clinton High School in 1966. She was an English Teacher for 34 years before retiring in 2005 from the Bradley Central Junior Highschool, then became a member of the teacher retirement system. She was a member of the Wapella Christian Church and the Clinton Eagles #593 Auxiliary. She enjoyed crocheting, golfing, tending her flowers, shopping, and especially spending time with her family.

Ralph E. Grider

Ralph E. Grider, 87 of Anchor, IL passed away 6:12 AM March 21, 2026 at his family home in Anchor, IL.

 

Graveside Services will be 11 AM, Tuesday, March 31, 2026 at Friends Creek Cemetery, Argenta, IL with Brock Eckert officiating. There will be no visitation.  Calvert Funeral Home, Argenta, IL is in charge of arrangements.

 

Memorials may be directed to a charity of the donor’s choice.

 

Ralph was born July 23, 1938 in Argenta, IL the son of James Eldo “Pin” and Faye (Higgins) Grider. He married Albertha Krall. He later married Karen (Mullins) Miller.

 

Survivors include his wife, Karen Grider, Mahomet, IL; children, Karla (John) Kendall, Chatham, IL; Kerwin (Vicki) Grider, Weldon, IL; Karen (Terry) Friend, Nokomis, FL; Rhonda Benter, LeRoy, IL; eight grandchildren:  David Kendall, Springfield, IL; Alex (Krystal) Grider, Bloomington, IL; Ben (Raissa) Grider, Bloomington, IL; MacKenzie (Seth) Naber, Marquette Heights, IL; Wesley Friend; Kyle and Jack Benter, LeRoy, IL; and Brody Miller, St. Peters, MO; two great-grandchildren:  Zelda Grider and Yuna Grider, Bloomington, IL; siblings:  Nancy Grider-Griswold, Argenta, IL; Linda (Terry) Taylor, Forsyth, IL; and Ron (Brenda) Grider, Argenta, IL; and mother-in-law, Nellie Mullins, Mahomet, IL.

 

Ralph was preceded in death by his former wife, Albertha Grider; son, Kent D. Grider; stepson, Donnie Miller; brothers, Duane Grider, Jack Grider, Norman Grider, and Charles Grider; and sisters, Shirley Prackel and June Koehler.

 

Ralph loved driving semis and was a member of the Teamsters Local #26 in Danville, IL.  He was an avid fan of racing especially NASCAR.  Most of all, Ralph was a loving family man who adored his grandchildren.

Marla R. Elderton

Marla R. Elderton, 76 of Clinton, IL passed away 9:58 AM March 20, 2026 at the Arc at Normal, Normal, IL.

Marla was born August 25, 1949 in Clinton, IL the daughter of William and Harriet (Best) Griffin.

Larry W. Wickenhauser

Larry W. Wickenhauser, 84, of Heyworth, IL, passed away at home Tuesday, March 17, 2026.

Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. Monday, March 23, 2026, at Calvert-Belangee-Bruce Funeral Home, Heyworth, IL. A memorial service will follow at 1:00 p.m. also at the funeral home with Pastor Carl Johnston officiating.  Memorial donations may be made to the Heyworth American Legion or Heyworth Fire and EMS.  Calvert-Belangee-Bruce Funeral Home of Heyworth, IL, is assisting the family with arrangements.

Larry was born July 21, 1941, in Clinton, IL, a son of Louis O. and Pearl A. (Green) Wickenhauser.  He married his wife of 60 years Nancy Simpkins May 2, 1965, in Heyworth, IL.  She survives.

Also surviving are two sons Jerry (Amy) Wickenhauser and Ronny (Debbie) Wickenhauser; grandchildren Adam Wickenhauser, Megan (Ed) McKinley, Austin Wickenhauser, Jack Wickenhauser, Ruth Wickenhauser, Phillip (Kaiti) Markusson, and Bradley Markusson; and one great-grandchild on the way.

He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers, and one sister.

Larry worked for 30 years for Wickenhauser Construction alongside his dad and brother.  He then worked as a custodian for the Heyworth Grade School for 20 years.  Larry loved traveling to the Smoky Mountains. He was an avid Illini and Cub fan. Most of all, he enjoyed watching and traveling to his grandchildren’s sporting events especially Adam playing in the 2014 State Basketball Championship game and his granddaughter Megan cheerleading.

Paul M. Schmid

Paul Michael Schmid, 65 of Waynesville, IL, passed away March 17, 2026 at his residence, Waynesville, IL.

Visitation will be 4 – 7 PM Sunday, March 22, 2026 at Our Lady of the Prairie Parish St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, Wapella, IL. Graveside services will be 10 AM Saturday, March 28, 2026 at St. Patrick Cemetery, Wapella, IL with Fr. Thomas Szydlik officiating. The family entrusted Calvert Funeral Home, Clinton, IL with arrangements. 

Memorials may be directed to Wapella Fire Dept., DeWitt County Community Mental Health Board, or a charity of the donor’s choice. 

Paul was born to Edward C. and Joyce E. (Wakefield) Schmid, Jr. December 31, 1960. He was the last baby born that year at the old St. Joseph Hospital in Bloomington, IL and made the newspaper.

Paul grew up on the family farm walking beans, baling hay, farming, mowing grass, and doing a lot of maintenance, building, and repairs. As a small boy, Paul loved his collection of padlocks and keys he carried around in an old woolen bag. When he was young, Paul raised rabbits and chickens, supplying the family with plenty of eggs. Paul learned to cook these eggs in bacon grease but would throw them out and start over if he broke a yolk. 

He worked several jobs including Revere Copper & Brass, Portec, Syngenta, CBRE, and the Wapella Auction House. Paul recently retired from the Village of Wapella as Maintenance Supervisor. He was very skilled at fixing or repairing just about anything. Frequently, he helped out family, friends, and neighbors doing odd jobs. 

He was a Wapella Wildcat, graduating in 1979. Paul overcame alcohol abuse in 1987. Since 2001, he continued to farm the homestead that has been in the family for over 100 years. 

Survivors include his siblings, Judy Mowery, Heyworth, IL; Larry (Kathy) Schmid, Waynesville, IL; Marti (Rene Stidham) Schmid, Macks Creek, MO; Chris (Fritz) Robinson, Kenney, IL; Bonnie Schmid, Clinton, IL; and Kevin (Debby) Schmid, McLean, IL, sister-in-law, Jane Schmid, Heyworth, IL, uncles, Charles Thomas, Waynesville, IL; and Jim Easter, AZ; along with many nieces & nephews, great nieces & nephews, cousins, and special friends. 

Paul was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Steve Schmid and Philip Schmid, sister-in-law, Margaret Schmid, and brother-in-law, Larry Mowery. 

The family would like to give a special “Thank you” to the Wapella Fire Department, DeWitt County EMS, and DeWitt County Sherriff’s Department.

Linda A. Levesque

Linda A. Levesque, 80 of Kenney, IL formerly of Mechanic Falls, ME, passed away peacefully on March 15, 2026. She was born March 19, 1945, in Rumford, ME, the daughter of Flora Soper and Clarion (Pug) Child. She married the love of her life, Robert J. Levesque Sr on Nov 26, 1971. She worked in the Bakery at Wal-Mart. She Loved to bake, especially Cakes. Also loved Bingo, Fishing, Crocheting, Playing Pool and Slots but, most of all her Husband and Family.
  
She is survived by Daughters Jane Spurling and husband Chris of Madrid, ME, Carol Kinder and husband Buzz of Ramah, CO; Jacqueline Pelletier and husband Bob of Poland, ME, Cynthia Bolduc and husband Marcel of Auburn, ME, Julie Emerson and husband Ken of Poland, ME, Sons John Ethridge and wife Beth of Prentiss Township, ME, and Billy Ethridge also of Prentiss Township, ME; David Levesque and wife Leanne of Kenney, IL, Sister Clarissa (Ricky) Collins of Auburn, ME, Brothers Harold Soper Jr. of Auburn, ME, Donald Soper of Auburn, ME, Bruce Soper and wife Liz LeBlanc also of Auburn, ME, also several grandchildren; great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
   
She is predeceased by husband Robert J. Levesque, Sr; parents Flora Soper and Stepfather Harold Soper Sr. and Clarion (Pug) Child and stepmother Dorothy Child; 2 Stepsons Robert Levesque Jr., and Stephen M. Levesque; Daughter Shannon Levesque; Sister Susan Bowden, Brothers Norman Child, Robert (Bobby) Soper, Irvin Child. 

Family and friends may attend visiting Hours on from 2:30 – 3:30 PM Saturday, March 21, 2026 at Calvert Funeral Home, Clinton, IL followed by funeral services at 3:30 PM with Fr. Thomas Szydlik officiating. There will be a small Graveside Service sometime this summer at the Riverside Annex Cemetery, Paris Hill Rd., South Paris.

Paula K. Mills

Paula K. Mills, 77, of Clinton, IL passed away 4:42 PM, March 12, 2026 at Vonderlieth Living Center, Mt. Pulaski, IL, where she received exceptional care for the last seven months.

 

Services will be 10:30 AM Saturday, March 21, 2026 at the Clinton United Methodist Church, Clinton, IL with Pastor Darrell Howard officiating.  Burial will follow at Mausoleum Park Cemetery, Clinton, IL.  Visitation will be 5 – 7 PM Friday, March 20, 2026 at the church.  Calvert Funeral Home, Clinton, IL is in charge of arrangements.

Paula was born July 27, 1948 in Peoria, IL the daughter of Rev. Richard and Evelyn (Droll) Denmark.  She married David D. Mills April 17, 1971 in Minonk, IL.

 

Survivors include her husband, David D. Mills, Clinton, IL; children:  Marc (Ginger) Mills, Savoy, IL, Carey (Joe) Trimby, Clinton, IL; and Jon (Bobbie) Mills, Jacksonville, IL; seven grandchildren:  Lauren, Ethan, Logan, Morgan, Carson, Kaleb, and Jackson; sisters, Dee Denmark and Connie Denmark; and cousins Tim Smith and Ben Smith also survive.

 

She was preceded in death by her parents; and uncle and aunt, Robert and Janice Smith.

 

Paula was a longtime member of the Clinton United Methodist Church where she was active in the United Methodist Women, Mary Circle, and served on the Staff Parish Relations Committee among others. Paula’s parents were United Methodist clergy. Faith and serving was important to Paula. Paula worked at Westminster Village in Bloomington, IL and at the DOVE Center in Clinton.  She served on the DeWitt Co. Friendship Center Board and the DeWitt Co. 4-H Foundation Board.

 

Paula’s life revolved around faith, family, and serving others. She will be missed by her family, friends, and all who were blessed to know her.

Bryan "Howie" Reeves

Bryan “Howie” Reeves, 78, of Clinton, IL passed away 11:30 AM, March 10, 2026 at his residence, Clinton, IL.

Bryan was born August 23, 1947 in Winipeg Manitoba, Canada the son of Jack and Joan Reeves.  He married Cathy Galyean September 9, 2006 in Clinton, IL.  She passed away May 4, 2007.

 

Survivors include his daughter, Nicole K. (Jacob) Worthington, Clinton, IL; grandchildren, Tyler (Charlene) Trachsel Normal, IL Travis Trachsel, Fairbury, IL Cole Powell, Lexington, IL; siblings David Reeves, Canada and Linda Reeves, Winipeg Manitoba, Canada. Also the love of his life Debra Willhoite Flanagan, IL. He will be deeply missed by Ashley (Justin) Barlow and their children Lanie, Linley and Jetson.

 

Bryan was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers John and Glenn and one sister Lorna.

 

Bryan was an electrician for many years. He was a lover of country music and animals but most of all enjoyed spending time with family and friends. Bryan donated his body to science in the hope of finding a cure for Alzheimers.

Eileen H. Volle

Eileen H. Volle, 98, formerly of rural Mt. Pulaski, IL passed away 10:05 AM, February 26, 2026 at St. Clara’s Manor, Lincoln, IL.

 

Private Family Graveside services were Tuesday, March 3, 2026 at Laenna Cemetery, Chestnut, Il. with Pastor Nick Blacklidge officiating.  The family entrusted Calvert Funeral Home, Clinton, IL with arrangements.

Eileen was born September 21, 1927 in Cairo, IL the daughter of Henry and Virgie (Lee) Smith. She married Charles Volle September 9, 1945 in Chestnut, Il. He passed away March 11, 1995.

 

Survivors include her children, Terry Sue (Robert) Veach, Atlanta, IL; Sarah (Mike) Hall, Bearden, AR; and Louis (Rebecca) Volle, rural Mt. Paulaski, IL; six grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

 

She was preceded in death by her parents and twin sister, Pauline Stauffer; two brothers and three sisters.

 

Eileen was a homemaker and a beautician.

David Allen Church

David Allen Church, 49 of Maroa, IL passed away 11:28 AM March 11, 2026 at Flanagan Rehabilitation and Healthcare, Flanagan, IL.

 

Masonic services will be 11 AM, Saturday, March 14, 2026 at Calvert Funeral Home, Maroa, IL with religious services following with Rev. Julie Dowler officiating. David was born October 1, 1976 in Decatur, IL the son of Glenda Lynn (Thomas) Church.

 

Survivors include his mother, Glenda Lynn Church, Decatur, IL; sisters, Michelle (Arin) Reinhart, Tuscola, IL and Julie (Jeff) Crabtree, Maroa, IL; nieces and nephews:  Morgan (Cody) Glick, Forsyth, IL; Makaylee (Colton Gruen) Church, Cerro Gordo, IL; Maggie Crabtree, Bloomington, IL; Austin Church, Decatur, IL; Olivia Crabree, Chicago, IL; and Dalton Scott, Fort Riley, KS; great-nieces and nephews:  Easton Gruen, Briella Gruen, and Kollyns Glick.

 

He was preceded in death by his brother, Daniel Lee Church.

 

David worked as a surveyor for Bill Faulkner and ended his working career at Caterpillar as a Security Shift Supervisor.  From 1995 thru July 2008, David served on the Maroa Fire Department and was a lieutenant for the last two years of his service.  In July 2001, David received his EMT license.  David was a member of the Maroa Masonic Lodge #454, AF & AM where he was the Chaplain chair for several years.  He enjoyed fishing, loved his Fire Fighters Special Edition Harley Davidson Motorcycle.  Most of all, David loved spending time with his family and friends and their children and was known as “Uncle Bubba”.

Beverly Reynolds

Beverly Ann Reynolds, 89, of Clinton, IL passed away peacefully on March 12, 2026.

 

Funeral Services will be held at 11 AM, Wednesday, March 18, 2026 at Calvert Funeral Home in Clinton, IL with Scott Marsh officiating.  Burial will follow at DeWitt Cemetery, DeWitt, IL.  Visitation is scheduled for 9 – 11 AM, Wednesday at the funeral home.

 

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association or the DeWitt County Friendship Center.

 

Born on May 10, 1936 in rural DeWitt, IL, Beverly was the daughter of John D. and Delzena (Dolly) Reynolds.  She married John W. Reynolds on January 25, 1954 in Covington, IN.  They recently celebrated 72 years together.

 

Beverly was a dedicated homemaker and supportive farm wife who took great pride in caring for her family, home, and farm.  She lovingly raised six children and helped John in the farming operation running farm equipment during planting and harvest season.  In her leisure time, she enjoyed reading, traveling, quilting, and cooking for her large family.  Beverly was especially known for her exceptional baking, delighting neighbors with her famous cinnamon rolls and cream puffs.  With a wonderful sense of humor, her greatest joy came from being surrounded by family – especially her grandchildren – and listening to their stories.

 

She is survived by her husband, John; children, Gail (David) Piatt, Susan Faircloth, Danny (Terri) Reynolds, Beth Reynolds, and Ruth (Mike) Craig; 13 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; and sister, Debbie Bair.

 

Beverly was preceded in death by her parents; siblings Barbara Reynolds, David Reynolds, and Russell Reynolds; her son, Terry Reynolds; and grandson, Eric Faircloth.

 

A beloved woman who will be deeply missed by her family.  The family extends heartfelt thanks to Memorial Hospice Care for the compassionate support provided during her final weeks.

Earle A. Cagle

Earle A. Cagle, 66, of Sherman passed away on Monday, March 9, 2026 at his home after being diagnosed with cancer.

 

A Visitation for Mr. Cagle will be held on Tuesday, March 17, 2026 from 3:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. at the Williamsville Christian Church in Williamsville.

 

A Memorial Service for Mr. Cagle will be held on Tuesday, March 17,2026 at 5:00 p.m. at the Williamsville Christian Church in Williamsville with Mr. Shane Sims officiating. A meal will follow the funeral service at the church.

 

Burial will be at a later date at the Edinburg Cemetery, Edinburg, Illinois.

 

Earle Allen Cagle was born on October 1, 1959 in Taylorville, Illinois the son of Lloys Lane and Judith Carmen Williams Cagle. On November 3, 1984 , he married the love of his life, Teresa (Terri) Lessen. Together they built a life and raised their family in Edinburg, Ill., where they lived until 2018, when they moved to Sherman, Ill., to be closer to their beloved granddaughters. 

 

Earle is survived by his devoted wife, Terri, his son: Jeremiah (Christina) Cagle, his daughter: Jillian Cagle and her boyfriend Cody Johnson; and his two cherished granddaughters Emma and Grace. He is also survived by his parents, his brother Douglas (Kim) Cagle, along with several nieces, nephews and mother-in-law: Andra (Donald Stanfield) Lessen.

 

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, two uncles, father-in-law: Marvin E. Lessen and brother-in-law Jake Lessen.

 

Earle graduated from the Edinburg High School in 1978. He was employed at HSHS St. John's Hospital working in Security and later as a diesel mechanic for RUSH Trucking..

 

His hobbies included hunting, fishing and watching TV Documentary's. Earle's granddaughters, Emma and Grace, were the most important part of his life. One of his favorite traditions was promising them that if they worked hard and brought home good grades, he would take them out to lunch and give them $100 each to go shopping- a memory they will always treasure.

 

Earle will be remembered for his love of family, his generosity, and the joy he found in spending time with the people he loved most. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Patricia Gribbins

Patricia Gribbins 60 of Clinton, Illinois passed away 8:59 P.M. March 4, 2026 at OSF St. Joseph Medical Center, Bloomington, Il. She was loved by her husband, children, grandchildren, and extended family.

 

Patricia was born October 27, 1965 in Joliet, IL the daughter of Franklin and Sadie (Willson) Terry. She married the love of her life and best father, Jerome Gribbins, on September 27, 1997.

 

Survivors include her patient and loving husband, Jerome Gribbins, Clinton, Il.; Children, Alicia Blythe, Clinton, IL, Balinda (Grant) Griffiths, Yorkville, IL, Dustin Pinkley, Kenney, IL, Sabrina (Brandan) Brough, Clinton, IL and Jared (Katie) Gribbins, Clinton, IL; her eleven grandchildren whom she adored; and her sister, Cassandra, Crawford.

 

Patricia was preceded in death by her parents, brother Frankie, and her loving cat Bart who recently passed away after twenty-three years.

 

Patricia graduated from Southeast High School in Springfield, IL in 1984. She soon became a mom and cherished that title until the very end. Patricia later graduated from Richland Community College with a 4.0 in Early Childhood Education and taught preschool for many years. Patricia enjoyed being with her family most and especially loved playing games. She was known for her fun personality and witty sense of humor. She was dedicated to being a great wife, mom, mawmaw, and friend and her family knew they would always have a welcoming hug waiting for them.

Michelle was preceded in death by her father Flake Yates.

Laura J. Gresham

Atlanta, IL – Laura Jean Gresham, 61, of Atlanta, passed away on Monday, March 2, 2026, at Carle BroMenn Medical Center in Normal.

Funeral Services for Laura will be held at Jefferson Street Christian Church in Lincoln on Saturday, March 7, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. with Mr. Michael Mallick officiating. Burial will follow at the Atlanta Cemetery.

Visitation will be held at Jefferson Street Christian Church on Friday, March 6, 2026, from 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m.

Laura Jean Cole was born in Danville, IL, on May 10, 1964, the daughter of Charles Richard and Nancy Lee Shipman Cole. She was united in marriage to Jimmie Dean Gresham on June 8, 2002.

Laura is survived by her husband and one sister, Betsy Ann Cole.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Laura was a 1982 graduate of Warrensburg-Latham High School. She earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in education from Eastern Illinois University in 1986. She had been a teacher at St. Teresa High School in Decatur, IL, and a State Farm Claims Representative. She worked for the Decatur Herald & Review as a sports clerk and computer operator for 22 years. She was a member of Jefferson Street Christian Church in Lincoln, and enjoyed reading and traveling, especially to the Gulf Coast and Mississippi.

John Joseph Coomer

John Joseph Coomer 71 of Clinton, IL passed away peacefully at 4:30 P.M. February 26, 2026 at his home in Clinton, IL.

John was born August 9, 1954 in Marshalltown, IA the son of Robert E. and Devota A. (Moyer) Coomer of Tama, IA. He graduated from Clinton High School in 1972. 

Survivors include his brother, Douglas E. Coomer of Decatur, IL and his very good friend Kevin Mandrell of Clinton, IL.

He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Carol A. Paper. 

John was known for his love of animals and pursuit of knowledge.

Lincoln -- Verna Mason, 107, of Lincoln, passed away on Monday, March 2, 2026, at St. Clara’s Rehab and Senior Care Center in Lincoln.

 

Graveside Services for Mrs. Mason will be held on Saturday, March 7, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at the Mt. Pulaski Cemetery with Rev. Mark Thompson officiating.

 

Verna Stoll was born on August 3,1918, the daughter of Vincent E. and Lelia K. Pfau Stoll. She was united in marriage to William H. “Barney” Mason on February 22, 1946. He preceded her in death on March 29, 2012.

 

She is survived by her granddaughters: Dawn Mason and Tanya (Frank) Spinner; great-grandchildren: Dustin Meacham, Caleb Meacham Alexis Johnson, Damian Johnson, and Bradley Spinner; daughter-in-Law: Lisa Mason and her daughters: Lindsey (DJ) Maxheimer and Lacy (Justin) Hott; and great-great- grandchildren: Stella Hott and Kayson Tuttle.

 

She was preceded by her parents, husband, son: Joe Mason, one sister: Lois Stoll, and granddaughter: April Breedwell.

 

Verna was a lifelong member of the Zion Lutheran Church in Lincoln.

 

She enjoyed gardening, raising flowers, working crossword puzzles and cooking for her farming family.

Charles was born November 14, 1950 in Clinton, IL the son of Paul M. and Geraldine (Garr) Williams. He married Susan R. Reynolds, April 27, 1985 in Clinton, IL. 

Survivors include his wife, Susan R. Williams, Clinton, IL; daughter, Darci (Shanon) Newman, Clinton, IL; son, Justin (Nicole) Williams, Clinton, IL, grandchildren; Cole Newman, TX, Braden Newman, Clinton, IL, Alec Newman, Clinton, IL, Kendall Williams, Clinton, IL, and Ashlyn Williams, Clinton, IL; brother, Paul “Butch” (Jean) Williams, Kenney, IL; and sister, Judith Ann (Wesley) Hearon, The Villages, FL.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and grandson, Blake Justin Newman.

Charles was a former Clinton Police officer and McLean County Sherrif Deputy, along with being a former member of the Clinton EMS. He had served his country in the Army National Guard. He enjoyed trains, NASCAR, Legos, and he truly loved his dogs.

Kay Mandrell, Clinton, IL; son, Kevin (Kim) Mandrell, Clinton, IL; 3 grandchildren, Adrian Mandrell, Leroy, IL, Joseph Mandrell, Chicago, IL, Anna Mandrell, Wapella, 2 great-grandchildren, Ollie James Mandrell and August Ransom Mandrell, and Twin Brother, Charlie Mandrell, Clinton, IL.

Ollie was preceded in death by his parents, 3 brothers, James Mandrell, Donald Mandrell, Joe Mandrell, and 3 sisters, Sue Ann Robinson, Linda Mandrell, Doris “Poge” Alwood.

Ollie was a member of the Lane Christian Church, Lane, IL. He retired from Wallace Computer Services after 18 years of service. He enjoyed collecting bottles, Illinois Central Gulf Railroad and Clinton Illinois memorabilia.
