Dorothy Gaultney

Dorothy L. Gaultney, 65 of Greensburg, Indiana, passed away at 4:47 p.m. on November 27, 2019, at St. Vincent’s Hospital in Indianapolis, Indiana. 

 

Born September 14, 1954, in Shelbyville, Illinois, she was the daughter of Charles Raymond and Alma Reca (Johnson) Smith.

 

Dorothy “Momma Doe” was a 1973 graduate of Maroa-Forsyth High School.

 

She was married to Kevin Gaultney on October 20, 2011, and he survives.

 

Other survivors include; stepdaughter, Kristina Gaultney; brother, Jimmy Smith of Pana, Il; two grandsons, three great-grandkids, all chosen children, many nieces, and nephews.

 

She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, and three sisters.

 

Graveside Services will be 10:30 AM, Thursday, December 5, 2019, at the Maroa Cemetery in Maroa, Illinois with David Taylor officiating.  Calvert Funeral Home, Clinton, IL assisted the family with arrangements.

Phyllis A Underwood

 Phyllis A. Underwood, 68 of Clinton, IL passed away 11:08 PM November 21, 2019 at Manor Court, Clinton, IL.

 

Memorial services will be 10:30 AM, Tuesday, December 3, 2019 at the Clinton United Methodist Church, Clinton, IL with Pastor Darrell Howard officiating.  There will be no visitation. Calvert Funeral Home, Clinton, IL assisted the family with cremation rites..

 

Memorials may be directed to the Phyllis Underwood Memorial Fund.

 

Phyllis was born July 27, 1951 in Lincoln, IL the daughter of Edward and Lucinda (Baker) Underwood.

 

Survivors include her siblings:  Bobby (Pamela) Baker, Lincoln, IL; Margaret Finn, Clinton, IL; Jack Underwood, Clinton, IL; and Susie Underwood, Clinton, IL; nieces and nephews:  Tim Baker, Teri (Baker) Raymond, Michael (Stephanie) Underwood, Debbie Underwood, and John Finn; 5 great-nephews and 2 great niece also survive.

 

Phyllis was preceded in death by her parents; 2 brothers, Gene Underwood and Donald Underwood; and 2 nieces, Tammy Mitchell and Jennifer Westerfield, sister-in-law, Lois Underwood.

 

Phyllis worked at the Dr. John Warner Hospital for 33 years.  She enjoyed working on her family tree and cross stitch.

Cletus Nichols

Cletus Warren Nichols 81 of Clinton, IL passed away 12:24 PM November 21, 2019, at his family residence, Clinton, IL.

 

A time to celebrate the life of Cletus’ will be 11 AM Saturday, November 30, 2019, at the Woodlawn Church of God, Clinton, IL with Pastor Jeff DeLaughter officiating. Visitation will be 10 – 11 AM Saturday at the church. The family entrusted Calvert Funeral Home, Clinton, IL with cremation rites.

Memorials may be directed to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

 

Cletus was born March 11, 1938, in DeWitt County the son of Eldon and Nona Faye (Summers) Nichols. He married Catherine Maxwell on August 17, 1962, in Clinton, IL.

 

Survivors include his wife, Catherine Nichols, Clinton, IL, children, Randy (Linda) Nichols, New Berlin, IL; Cindy (Bill) Walker, Decatur, IL; Timothy (Debi) Nichols, Clinton, IL; James Nichols, Clinton, IL; Dennis (Jeana) Nichols, Clinton, IL, 12 grandchildren, several great-grandchildren, siblings, Ed Nichols, Kansas; Merle (Judy) Nichols, Shelbyville, IL; Fred (Linda) Nichols, Boaz, AL; and Peggy (Richard) Defenbaugh, Monticello, IL.

 

Cletus worked many years pouring concrete, spending much time in the downtown Decatur area. He was an avid fisherman.

 Rosie Anali Osorio 10 yrs of Clinton, Illinois passed away 10:56 PM November 15, 2019 at the Warner Hospital and Health Services, Clinton, Il.  

 

Mass Of Christian Burial will be 10 A.M. Thursday, November 21, 2019 at St. John’s Catholic Church, Clinton, Il. with Rev. Fr. James Henning Celebrant. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery, Clinton, Il. Visitation will be 5 – 7 PM Wednesday, November 20, 2019 at the Calvert Funeral Home, Clinton, Il. with the Rosary at 7 PM.

Rosie was born January 20, 2009 in Chicago, Il. the daughter of Ricardo Rodriguez and Jacqueline (Ocampo).

 

Survivors include her parents, Ricardo Rodriguez, Chicago, Il.; Mother, Jacqueline (Jose Herrera) Ocampo, Clinton, Il.; Maternal Grandparents, Sara (Pablo) Castrejon, Clinton, Il.; Uzziel Ocampo, Clinton, Il.; Paternal Grandparents, Maria Rodriguez, Chicago, Il.; Siblings, Amairani Osorio, Oscar Osorio, Lindsay Osorio, Alexander Osorio, Isabella Herrera, Estela Herrera and Ella Herrera all of Clinton, Il.; Brother-in-law, Nathaniel Smith, Clinton, Il.; Aunt & Uncle, Xochilth Romero and Mario Gutierrez, Clinton, Il.; Cousin, Leslie Romero, Clinton, Il.

 

Rosie was a student at the Clinton Elementary School. She enjoyed dancing, listening to music and videoing herself singing. Rosie will be forever in our hearts.

Everett Allen Knopp

Everett “Butch” Allen Knopp, 73, of Clinton passed away at 9:04am Thursday, November 7, 2019 at home.

 

Everett was born in Clinton, IL on November 21, 1945 to parents, Everett James Knopp and Laura Belle Winstead.

 

Everett is survived by one son, Everett “Allen” (Shannan) Knopp of Farmer City; three grandchildren, Jared Gambrel of Clinton, Everett “Logan” Knopp of Pekin, and Journey          Knopp of Farmer City; two great-grandchildren, Paeton Komnick of Normal and Lillian Gambrel of Clinton; two sisters, Martha Latham of Clinton and Linda Scogin of Clinton.       He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

 

Everett was preceded in death by his parents, infant sister, Elizabeth Belle, and son, Walter Winebrinner..

 

A celebration of life will be held from 5pm-9pm on Saturday, November 16 2019 at The Eagles, 220 N. Center, Clinton, IL.

Steven M. Ferguson

 Steven M. Ferguson lifelong Clinton area farmer passed away on November 8, 2019. Steve was born in Clinton, IL on April 4, 1925 to Mearl and Fannie (Provins) Ferguson. Steve was married to Dorothy Rhea, who passed away in 1996.

 

He is survived by his wife of 15 years, Catherine Baylor Ferguson, 4 sons, Terry (Katherine) of Clinton, Roger (Tina Fasano) of Dauphin Island, AL, Ronald (Karen) of Clinton, and David (Jeanette) also of Clinton. Steve is also survived by 13 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. Steve has 4 stepchildren with 9 step-grandchildren and 12 step-great grandchildren.

 

As a lifelong farmer in the Clinton area, Steve proudly served his community as a past Justice of the Peace of Harp Township. He also served as Harp Township Trustee for at least 30 years. Steve served as a member of the DeWitt County 4-H Fair Board for nearly 40 years. He was an active member of the Board of Directors of the DeWitt County Farm Bureau for many years. Steve also served as a 4-H Club Leader and as a member of the Clinton Board of Education from 1966-1970.

 

Steve was a member of the First Christian Church in Clinton and attended the Clinton Methodist Church in Clinton.

 

Services will be 10:30 AM Tuesday, November 12, 2019 at the Clinton United Methodist Church with Pastor Darrell Howard and Rev. C.. Don Ferrill officiating. Burial will follow at DeWitt Cemetery, DeWitt, IL. Visitation will be 5 - 7 PM Monday, November 11, 2019 at Calvert Funeral Home, Clinton, IL.

 

Memorials may be made to the DeWitt County 4-H Fair Association or the DeWitt County Farm Bureau Foundation for Scholarships.
