Jerry was born April 27, 1939 in Wapella, IL the son of Proctor and Blanche (Cox) Morris. He married Barbara H. Yardeen December 23, 1961 in Clinton, IL. She passed away March 19, 2017.

 

Survivors include his children, Jerry Dean Morris, Wapella, IL; Roy Neal (Becky) Morris, Clinton, IL; Mary Kay (Nick) Godby, Clinton, IL; Nicholas (Cherish) Morris, Jackson, TN; 4 grandchildren, Max; Amanda; Shayna; and Shelby, siblings, Juanita Stephenson Grayson, Georgia; Mary Holland, Hallsville, IL; and Carolee Chapman, Clinton, IL.

 

Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, siblings, Kenneth Bill Morris; Robert “Ham” Morris; Jack Morris; Colleen Carl; Deloris Duncan, and infant sister, Doris Morris.

 

Jerry loved spending time with his family, especially driving his grandchildren around on the lawnmower.

Daniel D. "Danny" Troxel

Daniel D. “Danny” Troxel, 65, of Decatur, IL, passed away at 7:27 PM, July 28, 2020, at Decatur Memorial Hospital, Decatur, IL.

Danny was born February 23, 1955, in Nashville, TN the son of Perry E. “Pete” and Martha Jean (Williams) Troxel, Jr.  He married Kathy in 1975.

 

Survivors include his daughter, Krystal (Ed) Cicenas, Clinton, IL; father, Perry E. “Pete” Troxel, Jr., Crest Hill, IL; siblings:  Margie (Tom) Corcoran, Joliet, IL; Anne Troxel (Mike Brumfield), Bowling Green, KY; Becky (Jerry) Buchanan, Decatur, IL; grandson, Zander Cicenas, Clinton, IL; nieces, nephew, and grand-nieces also survive.

 

Danny was preceded in death by his mother.

 

Danny graduated from McArthur HS, Decatur, IL, and attended Lake Land College, Mattoon, IL.

Judith A. "Judy" Seppi

Judith A. “Judy” Seppi 82 of Kenney, Illinois passed away 11:20 PM July 27, 2020 at Decatur Memorial Hospital, Decatur, Il.

Judy was born March 12, 1938 in Joliet, IL the daughter of Stanford and Helen (Barnes) Tallman. She married Rudy Seppi June 28, 1958 in Joliet, IL.

 

Survivors include her husband, Rudy Seppi, Kenney, IL; children, Jamie (Herman) Jolly, Plainfield, IL; Danny (Mariya) Seppi, Symerton, IL; Mark Seppi, Sherwood, OR; Scott Seppi, Clinton, IL; 4 grandchildren; 1 great-grandchild; sister, Barbara Saunders, Encinitas, CA; and 2 half-brothers, Chip and Jeff Tallman, South Bend, IN.

 

Judy was preceded in death by her Parents, and 1 Son, David Joseph Seppi.

 

Judy enjoyed gardening and painting.  She especially loved her church and her family.

Michael Daab

Michael H. Daab, 63 of Wapella, IL passed away 12:27 PM on July 24, 2020, at St. John’s Hospital, Springfield, IL.

 

No services are planned at this time.  A Celebration of Michael’s Life will be held at a later date.  The family entrusted Calvert Funeral Home, Clinton, IL with cremation rites.

Michael was born on January 31, 1957, in Redbud, IL the son of Harry Joseph and Lavada (Niclas) Daab. He married Lesly A. Heggemeier on April 15, 2006, in Wapella, IL.

 

Survivors include his wife, Lesly A. Daab, Wapella, IL; children:  James (Rosa) Drury, Fenton, MO; Brittney (Eric) Rokicki, Wapella, IL; and Kelly (Ben) Loudenslager, Antigo, WI; step-son, Nicholas (Carly) Sherman, Niles, MI; 11 grandchildren; and sister, JoAnn (David) Lehr, Columbia, IL.

 

He was preceded in death by his parents.

 

Michael liked to drink beer, fish, and help people.  He was a retired Wapella Firefighter and was presently on the Wapella Township Board.

Ernest was born June 9, 1944 in Clinton, IL the son of Albert Ray and Janice Louise (Burger) Frost. He married Linda Cummings on April 24, 1973 in Lincoln, IL.

 

Survivors include his wife, Linda Frost, Waynesville, IL: children:  Randi Smith, Lincoln, IL; Tammy Standard, Lincoln, IL; Denise Naugle (Jim Quisenberry), Lincoln, IL; Kenneth Frost, St. Petersburg, FL; Janet Danbury, Minonk, IL; Anthony (Melissa) Frost, Springfield, MO; and Gerald Frost, Springfield, MO; 14 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren; and 1 sister, Bonita McManus.

 

He was preceded in death by his parents, 1 sister, 1 granddaughter, and 2 great-grandchildren.

 

Ernest was President of ABATE for 8 years and was an avid Harley-Davidson enthusiast.

Glen was born January 17, 1924 in Beecher City, IL the son of Edmund and Mamie (Finks) Marxman. He married Doris Farris August 14, 1949 in Shelby County, IL. She passed away November 11, 1997.

 

Survivors include his children, Donna Marxman, Normal, IL; Daniel Marxman, Decatur, IL; 2 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren.

 

Glen was preceded in death by his parents, 2 daughters, Deanna Lynn Marxman; Dora E. Mellott, second wife, Ellen (Hovis) Marxman and 1 brother, Lawrence Marxman.

 

Glen served his country in the Navy. He was a member of the Maroa Bible Church and had retired from the Maroa Elevator.

Henry Levi Martin, 85 of Clinton, IL passed away 6:02 A.M. July 20, 2020 at Richard L. Owens Hospice, Peoria, IL.

Henry was born March 22, 1935 in Charleston, IL the son of Uriel Clayton and Wilma Irene (Butler) Martin. He married Martha Marie Evans, she passed away January 29, 1992.

 

Survivors include 3 nieces, 1 nephew, and several great nieces and nephews. Also surviving, his longtime companion, Judie Knoth, Clinton, IL.

 

He was preceded in death by his parents, 2 brothers, Ronald Dale & Charles James Martin, and 1 nephew, Steven Lee Martin.

 

Henry retired from Revere Copper & Brass Inc. in Clinton, IL and enjoyed traveling with Judie. He was a generous man in spirit and action.

Marion Atten

Marion P. Atten 76 of DeWitt, IL passed away 10:28 PM July 19, 2020 at Carle BroMenn Medical Center, Normal, IL.

 

Services will be 2 pm, Saturday, July 25, 2020 at Calvert Funeral Home, Clinton, IL with Ernie Harvey, Jr. officiating.  Visitation will be 1 – 2 PM, Saturday at the funeral home.

Marion was born January 26, 1944 in Hinsdale, IL the daughter of Fred W. and Lotte V.  Parbs. She married Charles “Chuck” W. Atten on April 20, 1968 in Wheaton, IL.  He passed away November 18, 2018.

 

Survivors include her children:  Chip (Kim) Atten, Clinton, IL and Chris (Becky) Atten, Cuba City, WI; 5 grandchildren:  Brandon, Caleb, Emily, Cori, and Andy Atten.

 

She was preceded in death by her parents.

 

Marion attended Illinois Wesleyan University and worked as a substitute teacher.  She enjoyed art and traveling the U.S. for antiques.  Marion especially loved her children and grandchildren.

Gary Hoke

 On Saturday, July 18, 2020, at 12 p.m. Gary Hoke of Clinton, Illinois, crossed life’s finish line with his daughter and son holding his hands, surrounding him with peaceful, grateful, and love-filled hearts.  In accordance with Gary’s wishes, there will be no services.  The family entrusted Calvert Funeral Home, Clinton, IL with cremation rites.

 

Gary was born April 2, 1951, to Myron C. “Bud” Hoke and Margie E. Johnson.  Gary married Nancy E. Nunnery on October 5, 1969, and later married Alma F. Maiden May 8, 1999.  

 

Left to cherish memories of Gary are his children, Marci (Jerad) Patterson of Clinton and Jonathan Hoke of Holt, Florida; siblings Larry (Jane) Hoke, Ed (Sonna) Hoke, Fred (Sharline) Hoke, Randy Hoke all of Clinton, and Karen (Jim) Powers of Wapella, Illinois; sister-in-law Vera “Toots” (Lou) Hansen of Clinton; grandchildren Kyli and Kane Patterson, Ka’lee Maiden, and Jesse Sloat; great-grandchildren Paislee and Preslee Anglin, and many nieces and nephews. 

 

Gary was a Caterpillar retiree, a former Eagle President and Golden Eagle, Harley Davidson rider, and avid Chicago Cubs fan.  

 

Gary was preceded in death by his parents, wife, and stepdaughter, Christi Sloat. 

 

Gary’s medical journey is one for the books and would not have been possible without the knowledge and skilled doctors from his neurological surgical/oncologist team at Northwestern Memorial Hospital in Chicago, Illinois.  The doctors there never backed down to the challenges Gary’s conditions presented time and time again and for that, and so much more, Gary’s family is grateful.  In Gary’s honor and memory, the family would like to make a charitable donation to the Lou and Jean Malnati Brain Tumor Institute through Northwestern Memorial Hospital.  The donation will be used to continue funding of brain tumor research.  Gary always commented while we would never know why he was chosen to fight the battles he was, the doctors needed to continue their research to get smarter than the tumors.  If you would like to contribute, you may send donations to the Gary Hoke Memorial Fund ? Survivors include his wife, Brenda Woodard, Lincoln, IL; children:  Debra (Sam) Surratt, Godfrey, IL; Tina (Jason) McAllister, Clinton, IL; Andy (Tabitha) Woodard, Quincy, IL; Danny Woodard, Lincoln, IL; Allan Woodard, East Peoria, IL; and Ryan Woodard, Lincoln, IL; 24 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren; siblings:  Sheila (Marvin) Long, Clinton, IL; Kelly Garcia, Jourdanton, TX; Rich Spurling, Clinton, IL; Amber Spurling, Clinton, IL; and Allora (KeKe) Sneed, Clinton, IL.

 

He was preceded in death by his parents, 1 great-grandson, and 2 sisters, and biological mother, Barbara Spurling.

Underwood, Clinton, IL, daughter, Susie (Bobby) Schaefer, DeWitt, IL; step daughters, Sandi Hamblen, Bloomington, IL; Katherine (Stan) Motley, Sandwich, IL, 7 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, 1 great-great grandson, siblings, Mary Hayes, Heyworth, IL; James (Sharon) Underwood, Clinton, IL; Marge (Bill) Scott, Heyworth, IL; Barbara Lane, Clinton, IL; Mike (Connie) Underwood, Bloomington, IL.

Charles worked at the Wapella Grade School as a custodian retiring 22 ½ years. He loved woodworking and making things for all of his family.

Becky Sue Inman

Becky Sue Inman, 61, of Clinton, IL passed away at 2:28 PM, July 11, 2020 at Aperion Care, Bloomington, IL.

Becky was born July 7, 1959 in Clinton, IL the daughter of Kenneth A. and Savannah S. (Beck) Hopkins.  She married Thomas W. Inman January 18, 2014 in Clinton, IL.

 

Survivors include her husband, Thomas W. Inman, Clinton, IL, son, Daeven Alexander Jackson, Clinton, IL, and brother, Barry Scott “Hop” Hopkins, Clinton, IL. Also, numerous aunts, uncles and cousins survive.

 

She was preceded in death by her parents.

 

Becky graduated from Clinton High School in 1977. She then attended ISU at graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree of Science in English.

Carl Dean Callison, Jr.

Carl Dean Callison, Jr., 72 of Salisbury, MD, formerly of DeWitt, IL, passed away at 12:00 PM July 9, 2020 at Peninsula Regional Health System, Salisbury, MD.

 

Services will be 10 AM Saturday, July 18, 2020 at Calvert Funeral Home, Clinton, IL with Pastor Steve Barrow officiating. Burial will follow at DeWitt Cemetery, DeWitt, IL. Visitation will be 5 – 7 PM Friday, July 17, 2020 at the funeral home. Also, there will be a celebration of life at Holloway Funeral Home, Salisbury, MD at a later date.

 

In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to the DeWitt County Animal Shelter.

 

Carl was born January 17, 1948 in Clinton, IL, the son of Carl Dean and Margaret Elizabeth (Chrisman) Callison, Sr.

 

Survivors include his daughter, Christy (Steve) Cooke, Carrollton, VA, brother, Randy (Jessie Junker) Callison, Forsyth, IL, sister, Marie (Ray) Carlson, Cloquet, MN, grandchildren, William Clark, IV; Katie Witcher; Brandon & Justin Cooke, great grandchildren, Orion Clark, Vaughn & Colton Cooke, nieces & nephews, Kaci Carr, David Carlson, Pam Carlson-Jones, Paul Carlson, Denise Follett, Rochelle Landsverk, 15 great nieces and nephews, 23 great-great nieces and nephews, and his beloved sidekick lab, Rango.

 

He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Jay and great nephew

 

Carl was a farm boy at heart. After working on the family pig farm in Dewitt, he then attended Sams Technical Institute in 1967, and after graduating he moved to Salisbury, MD. He was a Manufacturing Manager at K & L Microwave and Lorch Microwave and retired from LWRC International. He was a current member of the Red Men Tony Tank Tribe #149. Along with being a past member and President of the Optimist Club of Salisbury and East Side Men’s Club.

 

Carl was always willing to listen, offer advice, or at the very least, make you laugh. You knew that if Carl was around you were going to have a good time. He was an unbelievable Dad and Pop-Pop, who always gave an abundance amount of love and support. He made you feel so very special and you knew you were the most important thing to him.  His love will forever be imprinted in our hearts.

 

The family is so thankful and blessed for his close friend and boss Richard Bernstein who worked with Carl for most all of his career.

Donna Marie (Harlow) McGee

Donna Marie (Harlow) McGee 78 of Lincoln, IL passed away 2:05 PM July 8, 2020 at her family residence, Lincoln, IL.

Donna was born February 27, 1942 in Mount Vernon, IL the daughter of Carroll E. and Katherine (Little) Morris. She married John L.. Harlow August 17, 1957 in Decatur, IL, he passed away November 16, 1973. She later married Larry G. McGee April 28, 1984 in Clinton, IL, he passed away May 21, 2007.

 

Survivors include his children, Kathy (Bradley) Willis, Lawrence, KS; Christopher Harlow, Clinton, IL; Teri Parrish, Greenview, IL, 6 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren.

 

She was preceded in death by her parents, infant son, Jeffery Harlow, stepson, Timothy McGee, 3 brothers, and 1 sister.

 

Donna loved Kansas Jayhawk Basketball. Her nursing carrier led her to a brief period of nursing in England reinforcing her love of all thing English. Her genealogy research had already revealed her English roots.

 

She was a member of the Mennonite Nurses Alumni Organization. After her retirement, she tutored at the Lincoln College and volunteered with the American Heart Assoc. and Leukemia Society.
