Maroa, IL - Cheryl M. Agee, 59, of Maroa, passed away at her home surrounded by her family on Sunday, March 22, 2026.
Cheryl Marie Miles was born on May 3, 1966, in Monticello, the daughter of Bruce Lee and Norma Lee Miles. On July 14, 1989, she married Woodrow Terrell Agee. He survives.
Cheryl graduated from the Maroa-Forsyth High School in 1984. She worked a few jobs before starting her career at Millikin University in the mailroom where she made all students and faculty feel welcome and loved, and at Ameren as a security officer. Her goal was to always support her family and be a friend to all those who knew her.
Her hobbies included watching her sons play sports, doing photography, and spending time with family and friends; she loved playing with her grandchildren.
Cheryl was a woman of strength, grace, and unwavering love for her family. Even in the face of her illness, she carried herself with resilience and a spirit that inspired everyone around her. She had a way of making people seen, valued, and deeply loved — whether through her kind words, her laughter, or simply her presence.
Along with her husband, surviving are her two sons, Andrew (Lauren) Agee and Aaron (Camilyn) Agee; two grandchildren, Ayden and Emma Agee; her father, Bruce Lee Miles; two sisters, Tammy (Bill) Rentmeister and Connie (Mike) Solimanto; one brother, Ed (Shelli) Miles; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins also survive.
She was preceded in death by her mother Norma Miles, sister Debbie Cook, and nephew Evan Workman.
Memorials may be made to the Maroa-Forsyth High School Baseball program.
Graveside services for Cheryl will be held on Saturday, April 25, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at the Maroa Township Cemetery, and will be followed by a celebration of life at the Maroa Community Center (119 W Main St, Maroa, IL 61756) at 12:00 p.m. Any and all are welcome to attend both. If you know Cheryl, she never turned anyone away and would like all to remember and celebrate her.
Peasley Funeral Home in Lincoln is assisting the family with arrangements.
