Greg Parker

James Gregory “Greg” Parker of Decatur, IL, formerly of Maroa, IL, passed away at 9:07 PM, Friday January 7, 2022 at his group home in Decatur, IL. He was known to all as Greg or Bubba during his lifetime. Greg was born on July 1, 1956 in Decatur Illinois to James B. and Charlotte M. (Braden) Parker. 


Graveside services will be 10 AM, Friday, July 1, 2022 at Maroa Cemetery, Maroa, IL.  There will be no visitation.  Calvert Funeral Home, Maroa, IL is in charge of arrangements.   


Memorials can be given in his name can be directed to MRI (Macon Resources Incorporated).


Greg attended school over the years at Macon Resources and Progress School in Decatur. After leaving his parents home he lived at Ratchford Group home and finally at Thompson House/Alpha-Omega Group home both of Decatur IL. The family would like to thank the staff at both group homes and MRI for the love and care given to Greg over the years.


Greg started his life with many challenges ahead of him, but through it all he has had a gentle and loving spirit. He was loved by so many but none more than his mother Charlotte who devoted her life to his care. He gained a bonus dad after Charlotte married Edward Crabtree when he was 13 years old and they became best buds. 


Surviving is his mother Charlotte Crabtree of Decatur, brother: Brent Parker and wife Lisa of Florence, AZ; sister: Renea Parker of Decatur, IL; step brother: Jeff Crabtree and wife Julie of Maroa, IL; step sister: Carrie Marley of Taylorville, IL; 11 nieces and nephews, and 9 great-nieces and nephews.


Greg was preceded in death by his grandparents Russell and Grace (Cooper) Braden, father James Parker, step father Edward Crabtree, and sister Deborah Parker.

Dr. Brit M. Williams

 Dr. Brit M. Williams, 64, of Decatur, IL formerly of Clinton, IL. passed away 8:05 PM June 16, 2022 in Decatur, IL.


Services will be 10 AM Tuesday June 21, 2022 at Holy Cross Lutheran Church, Decatur, IL. with Rev. Amy Ziettlow officiating. Visitation will be 5-7 PM Monday June 20, 2022 at Calvert Funeral Home Clinton, IL.


Memorials may be directed to Holy Cross Lutheran Church, Decatur, IL.


Brit was born June 28, 1957 in Decatur, IL the son of James and Jean (Morris) Williams. He married Lee A. Brenner September 6, 1986 in Evanston, IL.


Survivors include his wife Lee A. Williams, Decatur, IL; children, Lauralee (Ian) Hatleli, Monmouth, IL; Jamie (Katie) Williams, Lombard, IL; granddaughter Emery Louise and grandson Grant David Hatleli; sister Dare (Kent) Patterson, Decatur, IL; and nieces Mackenzie (fiancé Jacob Garner) Patterson, Nashville, TN and Kacy (Nashe) Harlan, Mt. Zion, IL.


Brit was preceded in death by his parents.


Brit was a 1975 graduate of MacArthur high School Decatur, IL, 1979 graduate of Millikin University, and was also a charter member of A.T.O. at Millikin, 1984 graduate Autonoma University of Guadalajara, he was a practicing doctor in Clinton for 28 years. He was a die-hard Chicago sports fan. He loved to play golf and watch the Masters Tournament every year.  

Frieda Marie Whitehouse

Frieda Marie Whitehouse, 87, of Farmer City, Illinois, and Clinton, Illinois, passed away at 10:30 A.M. Friday, June 10, 2022, at St. Clara’s Rehabilitation and Senior Center, Lincoln, Illinois.


Her funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M. Friday, June 17, 2022, at Calvert-Belangee-Bruce Funeral Home, Farmer City, Illinois, with Ernie Harvey Jr. officiating. Burial will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery, Farmer City, Illinois. Visitation will be from 10:00 A.M. – 11:00 A.M. Friday June 17, 2022, at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.


Frieda was born on September 28, 1934, in Mt. Vernon, Illinois, a daughter of Pleasant P. and Goldie Mae Harvey Minor. She married Orval L. Chapman. He preceded her in death. She later married William E. Alvis. He preceded her in death. She later married Ronald Junior Whitehouse. He preceded her in death.


She is survived by her son, Robert (Sherry) Chapman of Clinton, Illinois; 2 stepsons, Randy (Cathy) Whitehouse and Robert (Rita) Whitehouse; stepdaughter, Theresa (Max) Swango; 2 grandchildren, Megan (Tony) DeFazio and Matthew Chapman; step-grandchildren Zach Whitehouse, Brady (Emily) Whitehouse, Dustin (Caroline) Whitehouse, and Breanna (Cody) Ward; 4 great-grandchildren, Laila DeFazio, Gigi DeFazio, Vinny DeFazio, and Ehvi Chapman; and several step-great-grandchildren.


She was preceded in death by her husbands; stepson, Rick Whitehouse; 2 brothers; and 1 sister.


Frieda retired from Eureka Williams in Bloomington, Illinois. She attended Trinity Community Fellowship in Farmer City, Illinois, and First Christian Church in Clinton, Illinois.


Frieda was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who cherished time with her family.

Della Cooper

Della M. Cooper, 88, of Clinton, IL passed away at 7:15 A.M. June 9, 2022 at Liberty Village, Clinton, IL.


Della was born January 26, 1934 in Wapella, IL. the daughter of Thomas Pleasant Bray and Nora (Bell) Bray. She married Thomas F. Cooper February 19, 1950 in Wapella, IL.


Della was a partner with her husband in the family farming business. She was a long-time employee of the Illinois Department of Revenue. Della served as DeWitt County Republican Chairwoman for many years, was active in PTA, and served on many community boards, she was elected to and served as Clintonia Township Clerk for over 35 years. She loved her family and farm.


Survivors include her 5 children, Debra L. Waks (Randy), Deanne Cooper (Larry Haley), Donna Parker (Rich), Tom D. Cooper (Connie), and John Cooper (Marcia), all of Clinton;  9 grandchildren, Ryan Holt; Drew Duggins; Nick Massey; Ashton Duggins; Tyler Baker; Cassie Baker; Colton Cooper; Wyatt Cooper and Conor Cooper; 8 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandchild.


She was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, her parents, siblings Lee Edward Bray, Harold Owen Bray, Thomas Edward Bray, Lillian Emogene Shaw, Margaret Ella Murphy, Donald Bray, Naomi Bray, and Katherine L. Corwin; granddaughter Christy Massey, great-granddaughter Sydney Holt, and close family friend Jerry Baker.


There will be no visitation. Graveside services will be held 11:30 AM Monday June 13, 2022 at Sugar Grove Cemetery, Wapella, IL with Ernie Harvey Jr. officiating. Calvert Funeral Home, Clinton, IL is in charge of arrangements. In lieu of flowers, donation may be directed to DeWitt County 4-H Fair Association, c/o DeWitt County Farm Bureau, PO Box 517, Clinton, IL.

Thomas Millington

Thomas Brant Millington (Tom), 76, of Decatur passed away on Sunday, February 6, 2022. Tom was born on July 7, 1945, in Decatur, the son of Robert H. & Genevieve F. (Shumard) Millington.


Tom was a 1965 graduate of Lakeview High School.  Tom enlisted in the US Army Ordnance Corps. in 1965 and served until 1968, he served in Korea and Vietnam from 1966 to 1967.  While in Vietnam Tom earned two battle stars, and was widely known as “the skinny spec 4 of South East Asia..”   He owned and operated, Tom’s Gun Shop in Decatur..  Tom was a life member of the American Ordnance Association, a 3rd degree Mason, and a life member in the Macon 8 Masonic Lodge of Decatur.


He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Robert Millington and sister, Beth Berry.  He is survived by his brother, Michael Millington.


A graveside memorial will be held for Tom at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, June 9, 2022 at Macon County Memorial Park, Decatur, IL with Matt Reed officiating and Military Honors following.  The family entrusted Calvert Funeral Home, Argenta, IL with arrangements.

Dorothy Wheeler

Dorothy I. Wheeler, 92 of Argenta, IL passed away 10:55 PM May 30, 2022 at her family home in Argenta, IL with her family by her side.


Graveside services will be 11 AM, Friday, June 3, 2022 at Friends Creek Cemetery, Argenta, IL with Pastor David Brown officiating. The family entrusted Calvert Funeral Home, Argenta, IL with arrangements.

Dorothy was born December 9, 1929 in Forsyth, IL the daughter of Melvin and Bonnie (Pope) Hiser. She married Paul E. Wheeler October 4, 1972 in Argenta, IL.  He passed away April 27, 2021.


Survivors include her children, Barb (Tony) Middleton, Argenta, IL; Sue (Rick) Kemp, Clinton, IL; Diane Roberts, Buffalo, IL; and Lynn (Sherry) Kaufman, Oreana, IL; 7 grandchildren:  Christy Nien, Argenta, IL; Tina Middleton, Argenta, IL; Paul Middleton, Argenta, IL; Mark Kaufman, Cisco, IL; Courtney Simpson, Mt. Zion, IL; Colleen Force, Argenta, IL; and Abraham Kaufman, Phoeniz, AZ;  15 great-grandchildren and 8 great-great grandchildren.


Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband, parents, 2 brothers, and 2 sisters.


Dorothy was retired from Revere Copper and Brass and enjoyed camping and traveling.  She was strong and sassy, but a very loving woman.  Our mom loved her family and friends.

Bill Morse

William F. “Bill” Morse, 85, of Kenney, IL passed away at 9:11 AM Thursday June, 2, 2022 at Decatur Memorial Hospital, Decatur, IL.


Services will be 11 AM, Tuesday, June 7, 2022 at Calvert Funeral Home, Clinton, IL with Paster Bob Marsh officiating. Burial will follow at Pleasant Valley Cemetery, Kenney, IL. Visitation will be 9 – 11 AM, Tuesday at the funeral home.


Memorial may be directed to the Kenney Heritage Association or the Kenney Fire Department.


Bill was born January 25, 1937 in Kenney, IL the son of Leroy “Roy” and Evelyn (Dever) Morse. He married Shirley Diane Boyd in 1958 in Kenney, IL.


Survivors include his wife, Diane Morse, Kenney, IL; son, Rodney (Bobbi) Morse; three grandchildren, Andrea Morse, Haley (Matt) Leimbach, and Jacob Morse; four great-grandchildren, Alex and Logan Deerwester and Walker and Emma Leimbach; brother, Mike Morse; sisters, Joan Morse and Betty Gaultney; and sister-in-law, Ronda Morse.


He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, and two sisters.


Bill worked for many years retiring from the Clinton High School Custodial Department.  He served for 32 years on the Kenney Fire Department, 33 years on the Cemetery Board, and 22 years on the Kenney Heritage Association where he currently served as its Vice-President.
