Jill D. Burden

Waynesville – Jill D. Burden, 81, of Waynesville, left the horrible disease of dementia behind and went home to Heaven to be with her family.

On February 25, 1963, she married Ronnie Burden in Shawneetown, Ill. They shared 58 years of love and companionship until his passing in May 2021.

Jill’s heart was boundless when it came to animals. There was no creature too small or too great that did not find a place in her care – whether it be a dog or cat curled at her feet, a raccoon in her home, or a donkey or cow grazing nearby. Her compassion extended not only to people but to every creature that crossed her path.

She also carried a deep love for travel and adventure. Winters spent in Daytona Beach, Fla., with Ronnie were filled with sunshine and laughter as they embraced new experiences and friendships that enriched their journey together.
