Gary W. Harrison

We are saddened to announce the passing of Gary W. Harrison on February 11, 2025.  Gary went to be with the Lord peacefully at home.
 
Gary was born in Decatur, IL, September 20, 1954, the son of Raymond Estelle Harrison and Frankie Earline Hutchinson.  He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Dixie Douthutt, brother Roger Harrison and nephew Frank Harrison.  He is survived by his wife Tina Harrison, son Jeremy (Christina) Harrison of Florida, sister Linda (Jim) Drickamer, Louisiana.  Many nieces and nephews who Gary adored, as well as close friends Mark Miller, Jeff Tucker, Rich Walsh, Doug Carr, Al Thompson and many more.
 
Gary’s faith in the Lord has always been strong. He was well liked by all who met him.  He absolutely loved wood working in his shop and gifting his creations and toys to others. He was a wonderful husband, dad, brother, brother-in-law, uncle and friend.  He loved with all his heart and gave the most amazing hugs full of warmth and comfort.  His love for Jeremy was immense, he was so proud of the man he is.
 
Gary retired from General Cable, Monticello, IL after 25 years and went on to finish his full-time career at Kraft, Champaign, IL at age 62.  He was currently working part time at Maxwell Counters, Farmer City, IL.
 
A Celebration of Gary’s Life is planned for 11 AM Saturday, March 22, 2025 at Trinity Community Fellowship Church, Farmer City, IL.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Gary W. Harrison Memorial Fund C/O Tina Harrison.  

The family has entrusted Calvert Funeral Home, Clinton IL with cremation rites.
