Scott D. King

Scott D. King 67 of Clinton, Illinois passed away unexpectedly on May 22, 2026 leaving behind kindness, and deep love for people and places that meant the world to him and a Tractor and ATV pulling legacy.

 

Private family graveside services will be held at Bethel Cemetery, Blue Mound, IL.  A Celebration of Scott’s Life will be 5 – 8 PM, Saturday, June 13, 2026 at the Clinton Eagle’s Lodge, Clinton, IL.  The family entrusted Calvert Funeral Home, Clinton, IL with cremation rites.

 

Memorials may be directed to Make-A-Wish Foundation or the Clinton Eagles Lodge #593.

 

Scott was born March 10, 1959 to Nuel Rex and Helen Loretta (Bottrell) King.  Scott grew up in Weldon and spent his adult life in Clinton.  Scott graduated from DeLand-Weldon High School and retired from being a journeyman electrician with IBEW on January 1, 2026.  Scott was a partner in King Motorsports and was looking forward to seeing the fourth generation pull down the track.

 

Scott loved his family, local watering holes, cold Busch, Jim Beam on the rocks, and time spent with the people he cared about the most – wife, kids, and grandbabies.

 

Though his passing leaves an immeasurable void, Scott’s spirit lives on in the stories shared, the laughter remembered, and the many lives he touched throughout his many years.

 

Survivors include his wife, Denise; daughter, Kristal (Nicholas Brand); son, Matthew (Malyssa); grandsons, Lachlan Dean Brand and Brecklan Nuel Brand, and Dallas Montgomery King; granddaughter, Sawyer Rupe King; and sisters, Karla Nowacki and Rae Ann King.

 

Scott was preceded in death by his parents.
