Cassandra “Cassie” N. Smith, 34, of Clinton, IL passed away 11 P.M. April 25, 2026 in Clinton, IL.

Services will be 12:00 Noon, Monday, May 4, 2026 at the Calvert Funeral Home, Clinton, IL with Pastor Jonathan Roberson officiating. Burial will follow at Long Point Cemetery, Wapella, IL. Visitation will be 10 AM – 12 noon, Monday at the funeral home.

Memorials may be directed to Cassie’s Children’s Fund for their future c/o Lanette Fatheree.

Cassie was born October 21, 1991 in Normal, IL the daughter of Lanette Fatheree and Michael Murillo.

Survivors include her children, Reid T. Smith, Clinton, IL; and Vera L. Smith, Clinton, IL; mother, Lanette Fatheree, Clinton, IL; father, Michael Murillo, Clinton, IL; and maternal grandfather, Bud Fatheree, Clinton, IL; several aunts, uncles, and cousins also survive.

Cassie was preceded in death by her maternal grandmother, Joey Fatheree and paternal grandmother, Nancy Ramirez. 

Cassie had worked at Ted’s Garage in Clinton, IL and most recently at Rivian, Normal, IL.  Cassie loved animals – especially her dogs, Axal and Liv and her two cats, Calvin and Oliver.  She was loved dearly by her family.  Most of all, Cassie deeply loved and cared for her children – Reid and Vera.
