Cynthia “Cindy” Martin 76 of Clinton, IL passed away peacefully at 8:10 P.M. April 25, 2026 at her home in Clinton surrounded by her loving family.
Visitation will be 10 – 11:30 AM Friday, May 15, 2026 at Calvert Funeral Home, Clinton, IL followed by a Celebration of Cindy’s Life for close friends and family at 12 PM Noon at the Clinton Country Club.
Memorials may be directed to the DeWitt County Fair Association.
Cindy was born August 19, 1949 in Longmont, CO the daughter of Donald Lee and Mildred LeVay (Peters) Mileger. She married Larry D. Martin September 16, 1996 in Clinton, IL at the Texas Christian Church, Clinton, IL.
Survivors include her devoted husband, Larry D. Martin, Clinton, IL, children, Lorri (Marc) Elder, Downs, IL; Lucy (Robert) Nord, Clinton, IL; Leslie (Aaron) Garrett, Normal, IL. Grandchildren: Evelyn; Olivia; Echo; Greta; Hallie; Sophia; Elsie; Inga; Andrew. Great -grandchildren: Scarlett; Genevieve; Gwendolyn; Bonnie; Della; Vera; Julietta; Beau. Brother, Don (Lee Ann) Mileger, Lebanon, TN, Niece, Lindsay (Johnie) Timmons, Columbus, OH, and Nephew, Jared (Mellissa) Mileger, Chicago, IL.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
A true warrior, Cindy bravely fought and triumphed over cancer two times in her life. Her strength and resilience served as an inspiration to everyone who knew her. She dedicated herself to supporting her husband in their cattle business with accounting, clerking cattle sales and paying checks to consignors. Cindy also enjoyed a successful career in banking, starting at First National Bank and later being selected to work at John Warner Bank, from which she retired after 30 years of service.
Throughout her life, Cindy fostered deep connections, making lifelong friends through her work, cattle sales, family gatherings, and her close-knit relationships where friends became family. She enveloped those around her with love and kindness, leaving a lasting impact on all who had the privilege of knowing her.
One of her greatest joys was spending quality time with close friends, family, grandchildren and great-grandchildren that brought indescribable joy to her life. She had a unique ability to light up a room and will always be remembered as a beacon of love and kindness.
We will deeply miss Cindy, but her spirit will live on in our hearts forever.
