Harry Jackson “Jack” Nichols, 83 of Clinton, IL passed away 9:38 AM February 24, 2026 at the Arc of Normal, Normal, IL.

Services will be 2 PM Saturday, February 28, 2026 at the Lane Christian Church, Lane, IL with Brock Eckert and Jim Kilson officiating. Burial will follow at Rose Cemetery, Lane, IL. Visitation will be 5 – 7 PM Friday, February 27, 2026 at the church. The family entrusted Calvert Funeral Home, Clinton, IL with arrangements. 

Memorials may be directed to Lane Christian Church. 

Jack was born March 28, 1942 in Homer, IL the son of Chester and Elsie Gertrude (Taylor) Nichols. He married Rosemary Wantland, April 2, 1966 in Lane, IL. She passed away March 12, 2015.

Surviving are his children, Jacque (Chad) Stengel of Heyworth, IL, Jody (Tim) Seymour of Lakemoor, IL, Benjamin (Stacy) Nichols of Heyworth, IL and Sam (Katy) Nichols of Clinton, IL, thirteen grandchildren, two great grandchildren, sister, Mary Lee Harrington, Bondville, IL, and brother, Ted (Cathy) Nichols, DeWitt, IL. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Bob Nichols, and Chester Nichols.

Jack worked construction "building four houses a day" and maintaining apartments for over fifty years. He also farmed alongside his father-in-law Darrel and brother-in-law Roger for many years. He enjoyed restoring old tractors and going on tractor drives. He loved to tell stories around the coffee table.  He loved to watch his children and grandchildren at their various sporting events.

Most of all he loved his wife and missed her dearly these last few years. They are now united together once again.
