Stephen Edward “Boomer” Sayers, 80 of Weldon, IL passed away 4:06 P.M. February 21, 2026 at OSF St. Joseph Medical Center, Bloomington, IL.

Services will be 11 AM, Friday, February 27, 2026 at the Calvert Funeral Home, Clinton, IL with Pastor Spencer McPheron officiating. Burial will follow at Weldon Cemetery, Weldon, IL. Visitation will be 9 – 11 AM, Friday at the funeral home.  The family requests casual attire.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Weldon Fire Department.

Stephen was born May 24, 1945 in Bloomington, IL the son of Edward and Beulah (Noble) Sayers. He married Theresa Regina (Meredith) April 16, 1967 in Bloomington, Il. She passed away June 9, 1994. He later married Diane (Johnson) August 10, 2002 in Weldon, IL.

Survivors include his wife, Diane Sayers, Weldon, IL; three sons, Adlai (Tina) Sayers, Weldon, IL; Ashley (Kristine) Sayers, Stewardson, IL; Andrew Sayers, Clinton, IL; seven grandchildren:  Adlai (Caitlyn) Sayers, Adam (Kelli) Sayers, Trey Sayers, Emma (Gavin Koontz) Sayers, Aiden Sayers, Kaitlyn (Jaxson) Rolland, and Brooklyn (Dylan Byrd) Sayers; five great-grandchildren with one on the way.

Stephen was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Linda Wheelock.

Stephen farmed all of his life in the Weldon area and was also a truck driver.  He enjoyed tractor pulls, going to auctions and to county fairs.  Most of all, Stephen loved spending time with his family.
