Holly Lynne Grimes, 69, of Clinton, IL passed away 4:57 PM, February 13, 2026 at the Arc at Normal, Normal, IL.
Graveside Services will be 1 PM Wednesday, February 18, 2026 at Pleasant Valley Cemetery, Kenny, IL with Scott Marsh officiating. The Family has entrusted Calvert Funeral Home Clinton, IL with arrangements. Casual attire is requested.
Memorials may be directed to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society or the Dewitt County Animal Shelter.
Holly was born September 20, 1956 in Decatur, IL the daughter of Robert Earl and Gloria Ellen (Barnett) Welch. She married Ronald E. Grimes December 30, 1977 in Clinton, IL. He passed away September 17, 2011.
Survivors include her siblings: Tamie (Gavin) Pearson ,Morton, IL and Crystal Wood, Clinton, IL; Stepdaughter Dawn (David) Waterhouse, Clinton, IL. Nephew Gavin Clint (Jennifer) Pearson, Morton, IL and niece Ericka (Josh) Bush, Morton, IL; 2 grandchildren Emilee James and AnnMaree James, both of Clinton, IL; very special greatgrandchildren and great nieces and nephews. And her wonderful caregiver Michelle Stevens and her dear friend Joann Manley.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Holly graduated from the Decatur School of Practical Nursing and later graduated from Parkland College where she obtained her Registered Nursing Degree. Holly started caring for people when she was a teenager as a “tray girl” at Crestview and this led to a lengthy career in nursing and caring for others. She was Director of Nursing at Crestview in Clinton, IL, she was also a RN at OSF in Clinton, IL and member of the Eagles Lady Auxiliary and was active in the Elks lodge. Over the years many people commented what a special nurse she was and what great care she provided to their loved ones. She spent a lifetime of caring and later devoted her time to taking the best care of Ronnie who suffered and died from side-effects of Agent Orange exposure. Holly retired early to spend more time with her spouse Ronnie. They traveled a great deal throughout the United States and returned to Texas each year where they lived during the winter months. Holly treasured her “Texas family”.
