Timothy Kirk Sinkosky

Timothy Kirk Sinkosky 68 of Maroa, IL passed away 8:55 A.M. February 5, 2026 at the Carriages, Decatur, IL with his wife and daughters by his side.

 

Services will be 11 AM, Thursday, February 12, 2026 at the Calvert & Wikoff Funeral Home, Decatur, IL with Pastor Shane Davis officiating. Burial will follow at Maroa Cemetery, Maroa, IL. Visitation will be 5 – 7 PM, Wednesday, February 11, 2026 at the funeral home. The family entrusted Calvert Funeral Home, Maroa, IL with arrangements.

 

Memorials may be directed to the Alzheimer’s Association or Passion Community Church, Decatur, IL.

 

Timothy was born July 21, 1957 in Decatur, IL the son of William Jr. and Ellen Marie (Agee) Sinkosky.  He married Cindy R. Cox October 4, 1975 in Maroa, IL.

 

Survivors include his wife, Cindy R. Sinkosky, Maroa, IL; daughters, Cara (Chris) Doak, Maroa, IL and Lisa (Blake) Doss, Maroa, IL; five grandchildren:  Brady and Drake Doss; and Ainsleigh, Brynnlee, and Delaney Doak; siblings, Tony (Stacy) Sinkosky, Savoy, IL and Tamara (Kevin) Ripley, Woodridge, IL; mother-in-law Verna Cox, Mount Zion, IL; siblings-in-law: Mary (David) Harpstrite, Charlotte, NC, Jerry (Suzi) Cox, Decatur, IL, Carrie (Mark) Marvin, Tolono, IL, and Cheri (Doug) Buttry, Champaign, IL; and many nieces, nephews, and special cousins.

 

He was preceded in death by his parents and father-in-law Donald R. Cox.

 

Tim graduated from Argenta-Oreana High School in 1975.  He was a skilled carpenter and home builder.  He and his father were well known as Sinkosky Builders.  He developed the Sinkosky Subdivision in Maroa, IL and built many homes in the Central Illinois area.  Tim served as a former volunteer fireman and EMT on the Maroa Fire Department.  Tim loved all his cats and dogs throughout the years and was comforted at the end by his two Bernedoodles Dolly and Daisy.  He especially loved spending time with his family and grandchildren.

 

The family would like to give a special thank you to Ayanna and staff at the Carriages and Michelle from Gentiva Hospice.

 

We will miss Tim dearly, but we are comforted in knowing he is now resting in peace.
