Jerry was born January 22, 1965 in Fort Worth, TX the son of John and Sue Farrell.

Survivors include his son, Christopher Farrell, DeWitt, IL; parents, John and Sue Farrell, Waynesville, IL; brother, Donny (Jamie) Farrell, Lexington, IL; nephews:  Drew (Shelbey) Farrell, Ryan Farrell, Bailey Noland, and Blaine (Kaitlyn Little) Noland; six great nieces and nephews also survive.

Jerry grew up in Waynesville, where he developed a deep love for family, hard work, and the outdoors. After graduating from Olympia High School with the Class of 1983 and attending WAEI in Wichita, Kansas, he proudly answered the call to serve his country. Jerry was a U.S. Army veteran and a proud paratrooper with the 82nd Airborne Division, serving in Desert Storm — a role and experience he carried with great pride throughout his life.

Following his military service, Jerry built a lifelong career as a truck driver, most recently with ADM Trucking. The open road suited him, reflecting both his independence and dedication to providing for those he loved. He was recently nominated and selected to serve as part of the “Honor Fleet” for Wreaths Across America, an organization that coordinates wreath-laying ceremonies at Arlington National Cemetery and veterans’ cemeteries across the country. He considered this a true honor and he was deeply proud to help remember and pay tribute to his fellow service members.

From a young age, Jerry’s parents instilled in him a love of camping and the outdoors, a tradition he later shared with his son. The hills of Tennessee held a special place in his heart and became a favorite destination for their vacations and time together. Those moments, surrounded by nature and family, were among his happiest.

More than anything, Jerry loved being a dad. His greatest joy was time spent with his best friend and son, Christopher. His family meant everything to him. He will be remembered as a kind, compassionate man who would help anyone in need and whose quiet strength and generous spirit touched many lives.
