Robert E. “Bob” Shaw, 78 of Decatur, IL passed away 6:50 AM January 23, 2026 at Lincoln Village Healthcare, Lincoln, IL.

Services will be 12 PM Thursday, February 5, 2026 at Calvert Funeral Home, Clinton, IL with Pastor Jonathan Roberson officiating. Visitation will be 11 – 12 PM Thursday at the funeral home. Graveside services will be 2 PM Thursday, February 5, 2026 at Camp Butler National Cemetery, Springfield, IL with military honors.

Robert was born August 19, 1947 in Tuscola, IL the son of William Luther and Virginia Mae (Barr) Shaw. He married Barbara J. Bitting June 1993 in Decatur, IL. 

Survivors include his wife, Barbara J. Shaw, Decatur, IL, children, Stacey (Todd) Ward, Clinton, IL; Cindy (Mike) Young-Broussard, Round Rock, TX; Barbara Young, Lincoln, NE, eight grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, 1 great-great grandchild, sister, Linda Walan, Palatine, IL, and nephew, Taylor Deetz, Decatur, IL. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter, Tammy (Kevin) Snyder, sister, Martha Shaw and brother, John Shaw.

Bob was a U.S. Army Veteran serving during the Vietnam War from 1968-1970. He had worked for Illinois Power and Caterpillar Tractor. An avid sports fan, Bob especially supported the Fighting Illini and the Chicago Bears. He enjoyed all sports, fishing, birdwatching, feeding the squirrels, gardening, and flowers.
