Kathy Kay Schniepp, 69 of Forsyth, IL passed away 3:11 PM January 20, 2026 at her home in Forsyth, IL.

A celebration of her life will be 12:30 P.M. to 3 P.M., Saturday, April 11, 2026 at the Decatur VFW post 99, 3920 North Martin Luther King Drive, Decatur, IL. 62526. Calvert Funeral Home, Clinton, IL assisted the family with cremation rites.

Memorials may be directed to Second Chance Pet Adoption or the Macon County Animal Control and Care Center.

Kathy was born December 7, 1956 in Vandalia, IL the daughter of Charles and Bette (Hachat) McConaughay. She married Stanley Schniepp August 27, 1977. He passed away February 5, 2011.

Survivors include Doug Hanly, who she spent the last years with, mother, Bette (Bill) Stolte, Vandalia, IL, children, Krystal (Ed) Cicenas; Nathan (Carrie) Schniepp; Melissa (TJ) Reedy; Abi Schniepp; Jake Schniepp; five grandsons, Zander Cicenas; Austin and Jayden Reedy; Carter and Connor Schniepp, siblings, Michael (Susie) McConaughay; Charl Bechel; Ed (Tracy) McConaughay as well as many cousins, nieces, nephews and in-laws.

She was preceded in death by her father Charles and Del and Leta Schniepp.

Kathy was a best-selling author, dog breeder and trainer. She enjoyed gardening, reading, writing, playing with the pups and listening to murder-mystery podcasts. Most of all Kathy loved spending time with her family.
