Daniel F. Seal, 82, of Weldon, IL passed away 4:35 PM, January 16, 2026 at his family residence, Weldon, IL.

Services with Military Honors will be 11 AM, Saturday, January 24, 2026 at Calvert Funeral Home, Clinton, IL with Pastor Bob Baker officiating.  Visitation will be 9 – 11 AM, Saturday at the funeral home.  

Memorials may be directed to Land of Lincoln Honor Flight or Kemmerer Village, Assumption, IL.

Daniel was born January 11, 1944 in Decatur, IL the son of Myron and M. Elsie (Stewart) Seal.  He married Jeanne Guffey November 6, 1966.  Daniel later married Doris E. Laker September 14, 2002.

Survivors include his wife, Doris E. Seal, Weldon, IL; children:  Shannon (Rafael) Gutierrez Seal, Decatur, IL and Nathan (Adrienne) Seal, Arthur, IL; step-children:   R. Todd Metsker, Argenta, IL and Kevin (Lottie) Metsker, Argenta, IL; six grandchildren:  Clayton Seal, Clairece Seal, Savana (Freddy) Perez, Robert (Candace) Metsker, Ryan Metsker, and Sara (Mac) Blair; and four great-grandchildren:  Andrew Blair, Ava Blair, Addy Perez, and Ari Perez; and sister, Nancy Whiteside, Burnsville, MN.

Daniel was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, and one sister.  

Daniel was a US Army Veteran serving in Vietnam from 1966-1968.  He worked at the Clinton Power Station for 25 years and was a lifelong farmer.  Daniel had lived in the same house all of his life and was an avid toy tractor collector.
