Carolyn Sue Mitchell, 76 of Clinton, IL, passed away 5:05 PM December 16, 2025 at Goldwater Care, Clinton, IL.

A Celebration of Life will be at a later date. The family entrusted Calvert Funeral Home, Clinton, IL with cremation rites.

Carolyn was born May 6, 1949 in Clinton, IL the daughter of Kenneth and Ruth (Carter) Roseman. She married Franklin W. Mitchell July 22, 1993 in Nashville, TN. He passed away May 29, 2017.

Survivors include her daughter, Janie J. Wyatt, Clinton, IL; three stepchildren, Kenneth (Lueverta) Mitchell, Steve (Debbie) Mitchell, Lisa Mitchell; sisters, Connie Query, Anne (Chad) Davis; ten grandchildren, Kara, Lauren, Rochelle, Megan, Alicia, Scotty, Wiley, Sami, Travis, Trevor; and 10 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, stepdaughter, Shelli Mitchell and brothers, Terry and Tommy. 

Carolyn enjoyed traveling and going out to eat with Frank. Her greatest joy was spoiling her grandchildren, especially the time she spent with her great grandson, Brady, playing games together and pranks on each other. She loved her family but now is at peace being reunited with Frank. 

The family would like to give a special “Thank you” to staff at Warner Hospital for their wonderful care of Carolyn during her short stay with them.
