Gail D. Robinson, 86 of Beason, IL, passed away 7:07 AM December 14, 2025 at Goldwater Care, Clinton, IL.
Services will be 11 AM, Friday, December 19, 2025 at the Calvert Funeral Home, Clinton, IL with Allison Hitchings officiating. Visitation will be 10 – 11 AM, Friday at the funeral home. Private Family Burial at Harmony Cemetery, Beason, IL will be at a later date.
Memorials may be directed to Second Chance Pet Adoption or the C. H. Moore Homestead DeWitt County Museum.
Gail was born February 26, 1939 in Watseka, IL the daughter of Kinley and Ila (Austin) Hynd. She married Marvin R. Robinson December 9, 1961 in Onarga, IL. He passed away December 26, 2016.
Survivors include her children, Debra Ertl, Clinton, IL and Darvin (Tammy) Robinson, Beason, IL; two grandchildren, Ana and Hunter Robinson, Beason, IL; two sisters, Linda Cailteux, Clifton, IL and Leslie (Paul) VanHoveln, Cresent City, IL; sister-in-law, Sylvia Barry, Charleston, IL; brother-in-law, Dwayne Robinson, Champaign, IL; numerous nieces and nephews also survive.
Gail was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Nancy Yates; sister-in-law, Cheryl Robinson; brother-in-law, Myron Cailteux; brother-in-law, William Yates; two nephews, Richard Cailteux and Mitchell Robinson.
Gail was raised on the family dairy farm in Crescent City, IL where she helped with her father’s operation. She graduated from Illinois Wesleyan University in 1961 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing. Gail worked at the Lincoln Developmental Center and then at the John Warner Hospital for over 40 years. After her retirement she helped to raise her grandchildren. Gail was a past member of Beason United Methodist Church. She was a member of many antique tractor clubs. She enjoyed attending tractor shows. She spent many years volunteering at the DeWitt County museum. She enjoyed fishing, gardening, and feeding her birds. She was a devoted animal lover. She also leaves behind her two feline companions Otis and Willow.
