Shirley Dawson, 89, of Oreana, IL passed away Saturday, December 6, 2025 in her home with family present.

Services will be 11 AM, Friday, December 12, 2025 at Calvert Funeral Home, Clinton, IL with Pastor Keith Schmutzler officiating.  Burial will follow at McCord Cemetery, DeWitt, IL.  Visitation will be 10 – 11 AM, Friday at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, please make memorials to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or the Argenta-Oreana Fire Protection District.

Shirley was the first born child of Ray and Geneva (Todd) Reynolds June 22, 1936 in Birkbeck, DeWitt County, IL.  Shirley married Lyle Dawson on August 2, 1952 in Fullerton, IL.  Shirley and Lyle shared 43 ½ years together prior to Lyle passing February 27, 1996.

Shirley is survived by her children:  Shelia Paschal, Scott Dawson, Frank (Terri) Dawson, Lee (Angela) Dawson, Hilda (Tony) Crystal.  13 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, and 4 great-great-grandchildren; siblings:  Doris Reynolds, Donna Parker, Marvin Reynolds, Roger Reynolds, and Mary (Mike) Likins.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Lyle, parents, daughter, Kathy Kadlec, son-in-law, Tom Paschal, and daughter-in-law, Kathy Sue Dawson, and siblings, Carl Reynolds and Phyllis Keeling.
