She is survived by her siblings Mary Ann (Jeff) Rhodes, Bloomington; Jim (Kim) Brady; Ed (Karla) Brady; Edith Brady-Lunny (Calvin); Francis Brady Jr. (Sandy); Tom (Missy) Brady; and Helen (Steve) Michelassi, all of Clinton. Survivors also include her stepsons Brad (Denise) Craven and John Craven of Hannibal, MO and sister-in-law Marsha (Leon) Downing, of Danville.
She was preceded in death by her husband Tim Craven on December 13, 2019 and her parents.
Services will be held at 10 a.m., Wednesday, October 29, 2025 at Calvert Funeral Home, Clinton, IL with Fr. Thomas Szydlik officiating. Rosary service will be 9:30 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will follow at St. Patrick Cemetery, Wapella, IL.
Rosemary was trained in the healthcare field and worked more than five decades as a caregiver to hospital patients, nursing home residents and anyone she knew who needed help. After her retirement, she moved from her home in Gifford and returned to Clinton. She was a devoted member of St. John’s Catholic Church and the DeWitt Clinton Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution. Her DAR service included the veterans and Native Americans committees.
The many nieces and nephews who benefited from the attention of Aunt Rosemary, looked forward to their birthday cards and original artwork. She checked in daily with her siblings, in person or on the phone, and frequently dropped off baked goods to them. Two days each month were spent in the kitchen baking 20 dozen cookies and muffins for a Decatur homeless shelter. Like her parents, she loved to garden.
Her family is grateful for the care she received from Dr. Nora MacZura and staff at Springfield Clinic, Dr. Farrukh Kureishy, the staff at Warner Hospital and Health Services and DeWitt County EMS.
To support Rosemary’s generous and caring spirit, her family asks that memorials be directed to Second Chance for Pets and Amvets Post #14, both in Clinton.
