Donald E. Day, 81 of Clinton, IL passed away 11:20 PM October 22, 2025 at his home surrounded by his loving family in Clinton, IL.

Private, family services will be held at Calvert Funeral Home, Clinton, IL with Pastor Jonathan Roberson officiating.  Public Graveside services will be 10:50 AM, Tuesday, October 28, 2025 at Oak Park Cemetery, Clinton, IL with military honors.

Memorials may be directed to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

Donald was born September 15, 1944 in Clinton, IL the son of Ernest “Lefty” and Madaline (Chandler) Day. He married Gloria L. Garcia September 15, 2002 in Las Vegas, NV.

Survivors include his wife, Gloria L. Day, Clinton, IL; Marlene Day, Las Vegas, NV; Donald Day, Clinton, IL; Melissa (Jeremy) Hardman, Bloomington, IL; Amanda Day, Bloomington, IL; and Michelle (Kristofer) Newtson, Tucson, AZ; 10 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren with one on the way; and brother, Steve (Carol) Day, Savannah, GA.

He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings Mary Ann Armstrong and Charlotte Marie Jackson.

Donald served in the US Marine Corps from 1963-1967 and was involved in Operation Starlite in Vietnam.  He was a member of Teamsters Local 631.  Donald enjoyed fishing, gardening, and especially Cubs baseball. Most of all, Donald loved spending time with his family.
