Patsy Jean Groves, 81 of Clinton, IL, passed away at 6:13 A.M. October 22, 2025 at her residence, Clinton, IL.

Graveside Services will be 2:30 P.M. Friday, October 24, 2025 at DeWitt Cemetery, DeWitt, IL with Military Honors. The family has entrusted Calvert Funeral Home, Clinton, IL with arrangements.

Memorials may be directed to the Wounded Warrior Project.

Patsy was born June 20, 1944 in Stoddard County, Missouri the daughter of James Oscar “Bud” and Betty Lucille (Lancaster) Fortune. She married John Milton Groves November 27, 1980 in Clinton, IL. He passed away September 10, 2012.

Survivors include her son, James “Jim” (Barbara) Weis, Clinton, IL; daughter, Angel (Thomas) Moentmann, Norborne, MO; stepdaughter, Angela (Steve) Ludwig, Chatham, IL; 6 granddaughters, 2 grandsons, 3 great-granddaughters and 5 great-grandsons. Brothers, Jim Fortune, Kenney, IL; Butch (Stacie) Fortune, Kenney, IL; Sisters, Carolyn “Suzie” Reddington, St. Louis, MO; Rene`e (Mike) Bess, Clinton, IL.

Patsy was preceded in death by her parents, Sister, Betty “B.A.” Nelson and her husband, John.

Patsy proudly served her country in the United States Navy 1963 – 1965. She enjoyed many crafts. She volunteered at the American Legion and setting flags at graves for Memorial Day.
