Richard “Rick” Duane Smith, 75 of Baytown, TX formerly of Clinton, IL passed away 12:51 P.M. October 15, 2025 at Harbor Hospice House of Houston, Houston, TX.

Services will be 11 AM, Saturday, October 25, 2025 at Calvert Funeral Home, Clinton, IL with Pastor Ken Graham and Ernie Harvey, Jr. officiating.  Burial will follow at Oak Park Cemetery, Clinton, IL. Visitation will be 10-11 AM, Saturday at the funeral home.

Rick was born June 12, 1950 in Pekin, IL the son of Howard “Smitty” and Wilma C. (Peters) Smith.

Survivors include his partner and long time companion, Olga Torres, Baytown, TX; brother, Terry (Sara) Smith, Clinton, IL; granddaughter, Lucy Lynn Smith, Murphy, NC; step-daughter, Daniella (Sean) McClutchy, Lutz, FL; step-grandchildren, Sloan McClutchy and Hendrix McClutchy; also surviving is Olga’s daughter, Veronica Perez, Atascocita, TX and her children, Emma, Maya, and Stella.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his son, Dustin Richard Smith who passed in 2017.

Rick was an avid sportsman. His favorite teams being the Chicago Cubs and Chicago Bears. He had worked and was always very involved with the auto industry.  Most of all, he loved spending time with his family and many friends.

Rick will be dearly missed. May he rest in peace.
