Bonnie Jean Redmon 87 of DeLand, IL passed away 9:15 P.M. September 17, 2025 at Goldwater Care, Clinton, IL.

Services will be 11 AM Thursday, September 25, 2025 at Calvert Funeral Home, DeLand, IL with Pastor Jonathan Roberson officiating. Burial will follow at DeLand Cemetery, DeLand, IL. Visitation will be 10 – 11 AM, Thursday at the funeral home.

Memorials may be directed to the Alzheimer’s Association, or the Disabled American Veterans. 

Bonnie Jean was born May 17, 1938 in Russell Springs, KY the daughter of Clarence and Linnie (Hardwick) Johnson. She married Avelee “Lee” Redmon March 21, 1958 in Campbellsville, Kentucky. He passed away December 13, 2006.

Survivors include her children, Michael Redmon, Deland, IL; Molly (David) Neal, Clinton, IL; Helen Day, Deland, IL; George Redmon, GA; twelve grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren, with one on the way, siblings, Max Johnson, Sellersburg, IN, and Linda (Donald) Cooper, Russell Springs, KY.

Bonnie was preceded in death by her parents, son, Richard Mark Redmon, sisters, Helen Pedigo and Viola Williams, and brother, Jimmie Johnson. 

Bonnie was a homemaker but also helped Lee farm. She was a wonderful cook and loved cooking and baking especially for holidays and family gatherings. She enjoyed gardening, flowers, word searches, walks but especially playing with her grandchildren.
