Elmer Goad, 89, of Lane, IL passed away 1:39 PM, September 13, 2025 at Carle Foundation Hospital, Urbana, IL.

Visitation will be 9 – 10 AM Thursday at the Calvert Funeral Home, Clinton, IL. Graveside services will be 10:30 AM, Thursday, September 18, 2025 at Friends Creek Cemetery, Argenta, IL with Pastor Jonathan Roberson officiating. 

Memorials may be directed on behalf of Elmer to the Weldon Springs Foundation or the Donor’s Choice.

Elmer was born January 13, 1936 in Devonia, TN the son of Cas and Oma (Daugherty) Goad. He married Twila Jones, then later married Carol Dawson September 18, 2002 in Clinton, TN.

Survivors include his wife, Carol Goad, Lane, IL, son, Rickie Lee Goad, Maroa, IL, five grandchildren, Blake Goad, Corey Goad, Lindsay Goad, Chelsea Goad, and Tiffany Prinedo, two great-grandchildren, Hunter Goad and Hayden Goad, stepson, Raymond (George Grogan) Dawson, Columbia, SC, brother, James Goad, Lake City, TN.

Elmer was preceded in death by his parents, former wife, Twila Goad, son, Leslie Goad, 3 sisters and 7 brothers. 

Elmer worked for many years at the Illinois State Highway Department in Dewitt County, IL.  He loved the outdoors, especially hunting and fishing.
