Deborah Greene Foor, 72, of Lexington, SC, formerly of Decatur, IL., passed away peacefully at home on July 3, 2025.
She was born and raised in Greenville, SC and daughter of the late Roy Jyles and Clara Ola Anders Greene. Deborah was a graduate of Greenville Senior High School where she was known as “one of the twins.” She graduated from Winthrop College in 1974 with a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology, cum laude. She was Phi Kappa Phi, Alpha Lambda Delta, Book & Key, Alpha Kappa Delta, and National Association of Social Workers Professional Member.
Deborah was particularly gifted in finance and served as Executive Assistant to the Chief Financial Officer at K’s Merchandise Mart, Inc, Decatur, Illinois for about 20 years. She managed her own staff and was administrative manager for debt, commercial insurance, lease, and governmental regulations administration.
Deborah would tell you that her most important accomplishment was placing her faith in Jesus Christ. She is now enjoying the benefits of eternal life in heaven.
She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Ervin Dudley Foor, in 2012. Also, predeceased by sisters, Ann Wolfe and Cindy Ray. She is survived by her twin sister, Donna Greene Meeler; nieces and nephew Courtney Meeler Livingston, Asheley Costner, Brentley Harmer, and O’Keefe Ray; two great nieces Carly Claire Landin and Hannah Rain Landin; and several first cousins. Also surviving are her brother-in-law Kurt Foor, and sister-in-laws, Jeannine Wylder and Janette Gordon.
A memorial service will be held at 4 o’clock, Thursday afternoon, July 10, at Northside Baptist Church, 4347 Sunset Blvd, Lexington, SC, 29072, 803-520-5660.
