Nicholas Paul Ludwig, 27, of Clinton, IL passed away 12:15 PM, June 29, 2025 at his residence, Clinton, IL.

A Celebration of Nick’s life will be 12 noon, Wednesday, July 9, 2025 at Calvert Funeral Home, Clinton, IL with Pastor Dan Mikel officiating.  Visitation will be 10 AM – 12 noon Wednesday at the funeral home.

Memorials may be directed to the Nicholas Ludwig Memorial Fund c/o Bailey Ludwig.

Nicholas was born April 4, 1998 in Greenville, IL the son of Mathew D. and Kerry (Barragree) Ludwig.  He married Baileysue Hope McConnell May 1, 2024 in Clinton, IL.

Survivors include his wife, Bailey Ludwig, Clinton, IL; children:  Opaletta, Rubyjean, and Legend Ludwig, Clinton, IL; parents, Mathew and Kerry Ludwig, Wentzville, MO; paternal grandmother, Amelia Sue Ludwig, Rantoul, IL; sisters, Mallory (Joshua) Ripperger, Arnold, MO and Keely Ludwig, Wentzville, MO; and one nephew.

Nick was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents and paternal grandfather.

Nick’s greatest love in life was his children and spending time with his family.  He enjoyed fishing, camping, movies, and reading.  He especially loved creative writing, building Legos, and playing with his children.  Nick was a selfless, outgoing, and caring man.  He was the “life of the party” who never met a stranger.
