Dorothy I. Rich 85 of Waynesville, IL passed away 8:10 A.M. June 23, 2025 at Goldwater Care, Clinton, IL.

Graveside Services will be 2 PM Monday, June 30, 2025 at the Evergreen Cemetery, Waynesville, IL with David Taylor officiating. There will be no visitation. Calvert Funeral Home, Clinton, IL is in charge of arrangements.

Memorials may be directed to the Waynesville Rescue Squad.

Dorothy was born May 21, 1940 in Waynesville, IL the daughter of Walter and Alice (Wampler) Purlee. She married Max Rich November 10, 1957 in Waynesville, IL. He passed away December 10, 2014.

Survivors include her children, Randy (Wanda) Rich, Greenview, IL; Roger (Michelle) Rich, Waynesville, IL; Rita Mann, Shelbyville, IL; Rachel Sympson, Clinton, IL. Several grandchildren and great-grandchildren also survive, along with her brother, Gene (Peggy) Purlee, Heyworth, IL.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents, son, Rusty Purlee, sister, Linda Valentine, and brothers, Bud Purlee, and Jim Purlee.

Dorothy was the Waynesville Postmaster for 25 years.
