Kaseyn James Clifton, 3 yr old son of T. J. Clifton and Jessica Lee Mares, passed away 2:47 PM May 24, 2025 at Decatur Memorial Hospital, Decatur, IL.

Kaseyn was born on his father’s birthday December 27th 2021. Though his time with us was far too short, Kaseyn filled each day with so much joy. Full of life and energy, he had a smile that could light up any room and a giggle that will echo in our hearts forever. He loved playing with blocks, doing puzzles, watching Cocomelon, blowing bubbles, playing at the park, learning his ABC's/counting and cuddling with mommy and daddy. He was more than just a little boy he was a source of endless love, he brought sunshine to rainy days and made every moment brighter simply by being in it.

He is so incredibly loved and deeply mourned by his parents Jessica Lee Mares and Thomas James Clifton II, Decatur, IL. Siblings; Jordan, Avery, Lylli, and Dayton, Corbin and Esme. His grandparents Richard Mares (Jacque); Michelle Mares; Julie Clifton; Tom Clifton (Diana); April Kemp; Scott and Amy Bailey; Great-Grandparents; Jacki and John Pogue; Judy Randol; Bonus Parents; Jordan and Hunter Bailey. Aunts and Uncles; Alaina Mares; Ethan Bailey; Amanda Good (Shawn); Austin; Kyle; Kameron; and Carter. Cousins; Trey, Jaxon, and Bensyn Good; Khloe Mares, Wyatt Bond.

Kaseyn was preceded in death by his sister, Laynie.

A visitation for Kaseyn will be held on Thursday, May 29, 2025 at Calvert Funeral Home in Clinton, IL from 5-7pm followed by services at 7 PM with Pastor Shane Davis officiating.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you honor his memory but hugging your little ones a bit tighter and spreading kindness in his name.
