Beverly Joan Duff, age 83, of Cape Coral, Florida, passed away peacefully on May 2, 2025 after a courageous battle with cancer.
Born on February 23, 1942, in Omaha, Nebraska, Bev was the youngest of five children born to Harold and Lucille Peek. She spent her early years in Omaha before moving to Illinois, where she later built her family and career.
Bev dedicated her professional life to Illinois Power/Ameren, where she worked for many years. On April 14, 1961, Bev married Jerry Armstrong. After Jerry’s passing in 2006, Bev married David Duff on March 14, 2009.
Bev was an avid Cubs fan and cherished the company of her beloved dog, Penny. Bev possessed a zest for life, which manifested itself in the simple pleasures of camping and traveling.
Bev is survived by her daughters Teresa Armstrong and Debbie (Dave) Defebaugh; son Jerry Armstrong; grandsons Juston Triplett, Joshua Armstrong, and Alexander Armstrong; granddaughter Allyson (Armstrong) McGahan; niece Barb (Bryan) Martin; and step-daughters Dru Duff and Dana Archer.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her four siblings, her two husbands, and two grandchildren, Brandon Triplett and Ashley Armstrong.
Graveside services will be 11 AM, Saturday, June 7, 2025 at DeWitt Cemetery, DeWitt, IL with Adam Brucker officiating. A Celebration of Bev’s Life will be conducted at the Circle South Bar and Grill in Clinton, Illinois from 1-4pm on June 7, 2025. Calvert Funeral Home, Clinton, IL is in charge of arrangements.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to Bev’s lifelong commitments to the Clinton First Christian Church or St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
