Rhonda Eunice Thornton, 55, of Bloomington, IL passed away 7:24 AM, April 25, 2025 at her family residence, Bloomington, IL.

No services are planned at this time. The family entrusted Calvert Funeral Home, Clinton, IL with cremation rites.

Rhonda was born August 5, 1969 in Normal, IL the daughter of Samuel and Rita Eunice (Nelson) Adkins.  She married Richard Thornton, Sr. October 15, 2016 in Bloomington, IL.

Survivors include her husband, Richard Thornton, Sr., Bloomington, IL; children:  Jessica (Adam) Thornton, McLean, IL; Mason (Jessica) Ross, Normal, IL; Brandon Banet, Bloomington, IL; Daisha Thornton, Normal, IL; and Richard Thornton, Jr. (Shantel Camber), Bloomington, IL; grandchildren:  Koby, Kameron, Karter, Lucas, Kaiden, Alaina, Emeria, Peyton, and Tucker; father, Samuel Adkins; sister:  Holly (Andy) Murphy, Waynesville, IL; brothers:  Samuel Adkins, Justin Adkins, and Dylan Adkins; several brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, and nieces and nephews also survive.

She was preceded in death by her mother, grandparents, mother-in-law and father-in-law, and other loved ones.

Rhonda was a very loving Wife, Mother, grandmother and friend. She truly lived life to the fullest through simple pleasures, chatting with friends and family, and spending time with her grandchildren. She had an uncanny ability to reach people in a deep and positive way. Her witty sense of humor was unmatched. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
