Abner “Ab” J. Griffin, 86, of Clinton, IL passed away 4:45 AM, April 22, 2025 at his son’s residence, Clinton, IL.

Services will be 4 PM, Saturday, April 26, 2025 at Kenney Christian Church, Kenney, IL with Ernie Harvey, Jr. officiating.  Visitation will be 3 – 4 PM, Saturday at the church.  Calvert Funeral Home, Clinton, IL is in charge of arrangements.

Memorials may be directed to the Kenney Christian Church.

Ab was born December 1, 1938 in Clinton, IL the son of Charles and Ruth (Rowe) Griffin.  He married Brenda Kay Alverson March 9, 1963 in Clinton, IL.  She passed away January 5, 2014.

Survivors include his son, Brian (Tisha) Griffin, Clinton, IL; two grandchildren:  Zachary (Cynda) Griffin, Clinton, IL and Kayley (Kris) Garrison, Clinton, IL; three great-grandchildren:  Olivia, Hunter, and Jackson; two siblings:  Bob (Kelly) Griffin, Decatur, IL and Dick (Sandy) Griffin, Red Bud, IL.

Ab was preceded in death by his parents.

Ab worked at Revere Copper & Brass in Clinton, IL from 1966 until the closing of the plant in 1999.  He was an Avid Chicago Cubs fan who enjoyed spending time with his family.
