Linda Lee (Wakefield) Thomas, 82 of Waynesville, passed away at 9:18 PM on April 20, 2025 at Haven of Farmer City, Farmer City, IL.
Services will be Saturday, April 26, 2025 at 12:00 noon at Calvert Funeral Home, Clinton, IL with Scott Marsh officiating. Burial will follow at Heyworth Cemetery, Heyworth, IL at a later date. Visitation will be 10:00 AM -12:00 noon at the funeral home.
Memorials may be directed to the DeWitt County Animal Shelter, or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
Linda Lee Wakefield was born in Macon County, IL on May 10, 1942 to Ward A. and Inez A. (Bottrell) Wakefield. She attended Wapella, IL schools. Linda married Lee Stewart, they later divorced. She married Charles Thomas on July 13, 1974. He survives.
Linda worked at Eureka Vacuum Cleaner Co. until her retirement in 2000 after 32 years of service.
Survivors include her husband, Charles, daughter; Lisa R. (Stewart) Solis, Mackinaw, IL, 3 grandchildren; Brittany (Tommy), Crystal, and C.J. 2 great-grandchildren; Kaysyn and Jade, stepchildren; Trisha Thomas, Pt. Charlotte, FL; Ken Thomas, Pt. Charlotte, FL, and a brother-in-law, James Easter of AZ, along with many nieces, nephews, and some cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a son, Rodney Lee Stewart (2022), sisters and brothers-in-law, Joyce E. (Wakefield) and Edward Schmid Jr., Janet A. (Wakefield) and Nicholas Siegel, and stepfather, Elmer Fawley.
Linda’s favorite thing was going to garage sales, taking care of her fishpond, and spending time with her family.
