Betty June (Heldt) Rice 91 of Terre Haute, IN formerly of Sullivan, IN passed away 6:12 P.M. March 29, 2025 at Terre Haute Regional Hospital, Terre Haute, IN.
Services will be 11 A.M. Friday, April 4, 2025 at the Bible Baptist Church, 2500 East Margaret Drive, Terre Haute, IN 47802 with Rev. Darrell Rice and Pastor Kevin Szwarga officiating. Burial will follow at Center Ridge Cemetery, Sullivan, IN. Visitation will be 10 – 11 A.M. at the church. The family has entrusted Calvert Funeral Home, Clinton, IL with arrangements.

Betty was born June 23, 1933 in Warrick County, IN the daughter of Willis I. and Ruth Ivalene (Hosler) Heldt. She married Harold Eugene Rice February 22, 1953 in Cynthiana, IN. He passed away August 24, 2016.
Survivors include her children, Jeffrey (Jo Ann) Rice, Sharpsburg, KY; Darrell (Pam) Rice, Evansville, IN; Cheryl (Doug) Dreher, West Terre Haute, IN; Randy (Sandy) Rice, Clinton, IL, 8 grandchildren, Eric (Heidi) Rice, Cincinnati, Ohio; Erin Rice, Louisville, KY; Shelli (Chris) Kempf, Evansville, IN; Sara (Jay Hamm) Nickles, Spencer, IN; Caleb (Reba) Rice, Evansville, IN; Jenna (Travis) Turner, Terre Haute, IN; Brianna (Nick) Deavers, Clinton, IL; Kelsey (Nate) Fay, Morton, IL, 20 great-grandchildren; siblings, Ruth (Kelly) Rehlander, Tucson, AZ; Mary Jane (Larry) Williams, Ft. Betty was preceded in death by her parents, 1 son, David Eugene Rice, brothers, Willis Junior; Loren; Larry; Carol; Dale; Marvin and sister, Emma.
Betty was a member of the First Baptist Church, Sullivan, IN. She worked by Harold’s side on the farm and later was a greeter at Wal Mart in Sullivan, IN. The two most important priorities in Betty’s life were the love for her Lord and the love for her family.
