Enrique Alvarez, 39 of Bloomington, IL passed away 11:25 AM March 27, 2025 at St. Joseph Medical Center, Bloomington, IL.

Services will be 10:00 A.M Tuesday, April 1, 2025 at Calvert Funeral Home, Clinton, IL with Ken Rutledge officiating. Burial will follow at Lisenby Cemetery, Lane, IL. Visitation will be 5:00-7:00 P.M, Monday, March 31, 2025 at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Abel’s education fund.

Enrique was born March 5, 1986 in Bloomington, IL the son of Evelio Alvarez, Sr. and Angelina (De La Cruz) Alvarez. He married Malory Isaac March 16, 2012 in Bloomington, IL.

Survivors include his wife, Malory Alvarez, Bloomington, IL, his parents Evelio Sr. and Angelina Alvarez, Bloomington, IL, and a son, Abel Alvarez, Bloomington, IL. Siblings; Hector Alvarez, Evelio Jr. (Jennifer) Alvarez, and Sergio Alvarez all of Bloomington, IL, George (Kylie) Alvarez, Normal, IL, and 9 nieces and nephews.  

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Rodolfo and Maria Alvarez, Jose and Guadalupe Hernandez, a mother-in-law, Kathy Isaac and a sister-in-law Andrea Staley.

Enrique was employed by Walmart for 18 years as a Tire and Lube Express Specialist. He was known as the ‘Cookie Monster.’ He liked to play video games, watch movies, shows, and WWE and boxing. He enjoyed cookouts with friends and family, and rooted for his favorite teams, the Chicago Bears and the Chicago Cubs.
