Loretta K. Marsh, 81 of Bloomington, IL formerly of Maroa, IL passed away peacefully on December 25, 2024 at her home in Bloomington, IL.

Loretta was born November 30, 1943 in Decatur, IL the daughter of Robert Elwood and Ruth Lorraine (Heisel) Cooper, Sr.  She married Alan Charles Marsh September 17, 1966 in Maroa, IL. He passed away December 7, 1972.

Always a farm girl at heart, Loretta thrived as a farm wife when she married Alan.  As a young widow with two small kids, she made a life doing what she loved with food and with people.  She will be remembered for her time in Maroa at The White Barn where she loved and served the community for over a decade.  She cherished her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and was happiest with a big dining table full of food and surrounded by loved ones.

Survivors include her daughter, Michelle Marsh; brother, Edwin "Eddie" LeRoy Cooper; daughter-in-law Rebecca "Becky" Marsh Harrelson, grandchildren:  Tyler (Lauren) Marsh; Brandon (Kelsy) Marsh; Cody Marsh (Aly Peters); great-grandchildren:  Charlie and Andie Marsh and Cooper and Harper Marsh; nieces and nephews:  Valerie Vorreyer; Wade Cooper; Nathan Marsh; and Tara Tiezzi; sisters-in-law:  Sally (Lyle) Honnold and Mary Smith; and brother-in-law, Dan (Kathy) Marsh.  She is also survived by many cousins and life-long friends, including Marilyn Cox and Jean Gordon.

She was preceded in death by her parents, son, Robert Charles “Rob” Marsh and brother, Robert Elwood Cooper, Jr.

Services will be 12 noon, Thursday, January 2, 2025 at Calvert Funeral Home, Maroa, IL with Scott Marsh officiating. Burial will follow at Maroa Cemetery, Maroa, IL. Visitation will be 11 AM until the time of services at the funeral home.  

Memorials may be directed to the Maroa Christian Church or Maroa United Methodist Church.
