Robert E. Rueff, 93, of Clinton, IL, passed away 11:38 AM December 17, 2024 at OSF St. Joseph Medical Center, Bloomington, IL.

Services will be 2 PM, Saturday, December 28, 2024 at the Calvert Funeral Home, Clinton, IL with Joe Murray and Gene Dillow officiating. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery, Clinton, IL with Military Honors.  Visitation will be 1-2 PM, Saturday at the funeral home.

Memorials may be directed to First Christian Church, Clinton, IL.

Robert was born January 3, 1931 in Decatur, IL the son of Arthur G. and Goldie (Tharp) Rueff. He married Shirley G. Jackson June 15, 1952 in Clinton, IL. She passed away August 8, 2010.

Survivors include his son, Jack G. Rueff, Clinton, IL; grandson, Jeremiah Rueff, Tucson, AZ; brother, Bill (Sally) Rueff, Decatur, IL; niece, Llewellyn L. Sears, Clinton, IL; nephew, Gene Dillow, Decatur, IL along with several other nieces and nephews.

Robert was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Harold Rueff and Sylvester Rueff, and one sister, Anna Borders.

Robert served his country in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. He retired from the Illinois Central Railroad. He was a member of the V.F.W. and the AM Vets. Robert was active in Biblical Archeology, Sociological Society and the Historical Society.
