Carol L. Query

Carol L. Query, 86 of Forsyth, IL began his eternal life in the kingdom of Heaven at 6:36 AM November 25, 2024 at his home in Forsyth, IL.

Carol was born May 7, 1938 in Maroa, IL the son of Walter Howard, Sr. and Ethel Mae (Schmidt) Query. He married Frances Luann Braden December 22, 1957 in Maroa, IL. They were high school sweethearts and spent their entire adult lives as partners for almost 67 years. Death will not do them part but be a short transition until their love story achieves its forever happily ever after. Through the highs and lows of life’s journey, their focus was always on each other and what they would accomplish together. As part of their concern for one another, they made an agreement years ago that the one left behind would not bear the trauma of a public goodbye when the first one departed. To honor their promise, no services are planned at this time. The family entrusted Calvert Funeral Home, Clinton, IL with arrangements.

Memorials may be directed to American Cancer Society or the Cancer Care Center of Decatur, 210 W McKinley Avenue, Decatur, IL 62526, or donor’s choice.

Farming was not just Carol’s profession, but his passion. It was a value, a lifestyle, and a work ethic he learned & carried on from generations before him. For a short time after his high school graduation, he tried a different occupation, but farm life called him back home for the rest of his days. For many years he was also a volunteer firefighter with the Maroa Fire Department.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Luann of Forsyth; children, Mary Ann (Bob) Beery, Atwood, IL and Jeff (Sandy) Query, Houston, TX; grandchildren, Hanna (Collin) Salzenstein, St Louis, MO, and Chase Query, Houston, TX; great grandchildren, Calvin and Nora Salzenstein; brother, Walt (Francesca) Query, The Villages, FL; sister-in-law, Mary Braden, Forsyth; extended family & treasured friends.

Greeting him in heaven are his parents, parents-in-law, daughter, Lesa Ann Query; brother-in-law, Don Braden; cherished aunts and uncles.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to Dr Timothy A Miller for his compassionate, unwavering care and friendship, and to Dr James L Wade for sharing his expertise in guiding Carol’s cancer journey for 20 years. The family hold a special place in their hearts for the Synergy caregivers who lovingly cared for Carol for the past few years and still care for Luann. They are our earthly angels.
