Paul O. Dunakey, 85 of Clinton, IL passed 2:26 AM December 1, 2024 at his family home in Clinton, IL.

Visitation will be 5 – 7 PM Wednesday, December 11, 2024 at Calvert Funeral Home, Clinton, IL. Burial at Camp Butler National Cemetery, Springfield, IL will be at a later date. 

Memorials may be directed to American Legion Post #103, Alzheimer’s Association, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, or a charity of the donor’s choice. 

Paul was born May 15, 1939 in Clinton, IL the son of James and Mary (Hassinger) Dunakey. He married Sharon Reider October 8, 1966 in Clinton, IL.

Survivors include his wife, Sharon Dunakey, Clinton, IL, daughters, Lisa (Mark) Haymon Hastings Victoria, Australia and Angela (Bill Lehman) Dunakey, Clinton, IL, 9 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters and three brothers.

Paul was a former Clinton Police Officer, volunteer firefighter, EMT with the Clinton Ambulance, and Boy Scout Leader. After 26 years, Paul retired from the United States Army. He was the proud owner and operator of Donkey’s Woodcrafts.
