Megan Elizabeth Howe, 30 of Maroa, IL passed away 6:58 PM November 29, 2024 at Decatur Memorial Hospital, Decatur, IL.

Services will be 10 AM, Friday, December 6, 2024 at Calvert Funeral Home, Clinton, IL with Pastor Donald Long, Jr. officiating. Burial will follow Friends Creek Cemetery, Argenta, IL. Visitation will be 5 – 7 PM, Thursday, December 5, 2024 at the funeral home.

Memorials may be directed to the Special Olympics Region I.

Megan was born February 22, 1994 in Springfield, IL the daughter of Mark and Amy Darlene (Albert) Howe.   Amy passed away September 23, 2015.

Survivors include her parents, Mark and Dawn Howe, Maroa, IL; brothers, Payton Richter, Decatur, IL and Austin Claussen, Decatur, IL; maternal grandfather, Bill Claussen, Clinton, IA; and uncle, Ryan Albert, Moweaqua, IL and his girlfriend, Michele (Pickley) Stela Eddie Hyden, Warrensburg, IL.  Several aunts, uncles, and cousins also survive.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Amy Darlene (Albert) Howe; maternal grandparents, Archie Ray and Judith Darlene Albert; uncle, Stephen Ray Albert; paternal grandparents, John Edward and Doris Eileen Howe; and maternal grandmother, Cindy Claussen.

Megan loved music and dancing and art.  She enjoyed the Special Olympics especially bowling and track and field.  Megan also loved going on vacations with her family.  There were many family and friends that she loved spending time with especially her aunt, Connie.

The family of Megan’s would like to extend a special thank you to the Maroa Fire Department, Abbott Ambulance, and the Decatur Memorial Hospital Emergency Room Staff.
