Alleta Marie Monts, 101 of Clinton, IL passed away 4:30 AM November 16, 2024 at Decatur Memorial Hospital, Decatur, IL.

Services will be 2 PM, Saturday, November 23, 2024 at Calvert Funeral Home, Clinton, IL with Pastor Darrell Howard officiating. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery, Clinton, IL. Visitation will be 1 – 2 PM, Saturday at the funeral home.

Memorials may be directed to Clinton United Methodist Church or Shriners Hospital for Children.

Alleta was born August 15, 1923 in Kansas City, MO the daughter of Tony and Phoebe (Hale) DeLuca. She married Lowell V. “Rusty” Monts September 30, 1943 in Clinton, IL. He passed away September 14, 2014.

She is survived by 1 son, Ronald Monts of Clinton, IL; 1 daughter, Suzanne McClure of Springfield, IL; 6 grandchildren, Dennis (Tuesday) Monts of Hilton Head Island, SC, Jeffrey Monts of Mt. Pleasant, SC, Jason Monts of Burlington, NC, Angela Leeser of Dixon, IL, Paul (Michelle) Monts of Champaign, IL, Kelly (Eric) Grady of Mt. Sterling, IL, 1 step-granddaughter, Merredith Dodds (Alan) of Greensboro, GA, and step-granddaughter-in-law, Dhey McClure of Chicago, and 10 great-grandchildren and 2 step-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and a son, Michael Monts, 1 grandson, L. Matthew McClure, her son-in-law, L. Milton McClure, and 1 step-grandson, Lloyd M. “Trey” McClure.

Alletta was a homemaker and enjoyed cooking and sewing and was a member of the DeWitt County Home Bureau.  Mrs. Monts was an 80+ year member of Kenney United Methodist Church.  She was the oldest member of the Kenney United Methodist Church when it closed.  She was currently attending Clinton United Methodist church.
