Lynn Albert Atteberry, was born on August 31, 1950 in Decatur, IL to Norma Jean Mattix and Albert William Atteberry.  He left this world on November 11 of 2024 with his family by his side.  He graduated from DeLand-Weldon High School in 1968.  He married Mary Coffey Henson on October 30, 1970 at the Shiloh Church.  She passed away July 24, 2023.  Together they had 2 children, Derek and Amy.  He grew up in and attended Shiloh United Methodist Church until its demise.  He was a farmer all of his life and worked at Wallace Press.  He was a member of the Weldon Co-Op Grain Co., on the Nixon Drainage District Board, board member of the FSA office and was a member of Chapter I of the GWRRA IL chapter “I” Gold Wing Riders of Decatur, IL.  He collected antique tractors and enjoyed Cushman vehicles and riding his Gold Wing motorcycle.

He leaves behind son, Derek (Janie) Atteberry, Weldon, IL; daughter, Amy Atteberry Workman, Clinton, IL, four grandchildren: Claudia Workman, Champaign, IL, Cordell Workman, Clinton, IL, Kristin Atteberry and Andrew Atteberry, Weldon, IL; sister, Karen Atteberry Gregory Eirhart, Decatur, IL, several nieces and his beloved dog, Chewie.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Norma Jean and Albert Atteberry and his brother-in-law, David H. Gregory. 

Services will be 10 AM, Thursday, November 14, 2024 at the Calvert Funeral Home, Clinton, Il. with Scott Marsh officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Park Cemetery, Clinton, Il. Visitation will be 5 – 7 PM, Wednesday, November 13, 2024 at the funeral home.  The family requests casual attire.

Memorials may be directed to Second Chance Pet Adoption, Liberty Village, DeLand-Weldon Schools or a charity of the donor’s choice.
