V. Sharon Pearl

V. Sharon Pearl, 89, of Farmer City, IL went Home to be with her Lord and Savior at 8:30 A.M. on October 16, 2024 at her family residence, Farmer City, IL.

 

Visitation will be 5 – 7 P.M. Monday, October 21, 2024 at the Calvert Funeral Home, Clinton, Il. Services will be 10 A.M. Tuesday, October 22, 2024 at the Calvert Funeral Home, Clinton, Il. with Pastor Dave Ashby officiating. Burial will be 11 A.M. Thursday, October 24, 2024 at Weldon Cemetery, Weldon, Il.

 

Memorials may be directed to the Farmer City Fire Department or a local church of the donor’s choice.

 

Sharon was born April 29, 1935 in Creek Twp., DeWitt Co., IL the daughter of Russell and Helen (McBride) Wantland.  She married James B. Pearl March 18, 1956 at Center Chapel Church in rural Clinton, IL.  He passed away August 6, 1994.  She later married Paul F. Garlock August 21, 1999 in Clinton, IL.  He passed away November 8, 2009.

 

Survivors include her children: Russell (Karen) Pearl, Farmer City, IL; Scott Pearl, Cisco, IL; Dan Pearl, Parnell, IL; and Pat (Angela) Pearl, Farmer City, IL; 9 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren; step-children, Vicky (Jim) Quinn, Saybrook, IL; Terry (Deb) Garlock, Saybrook, IL; and Paula (Craig) Horsch; Saybrook, IL; daughter-in-law, Lorie (Jim) Earnhart, Chapel Hill, TN; sister, Marilyn (Steve) Florie, Goodfield, IL; brother, David (Ruth) Wantland, Yorkville, IL; and sister-in-law, Dixie Wantland, Taylorville, IL.

 

Sharon was preceded in death by her parents, Son, Jeffrey M. Pearl; Sister, June Newberry; Brothers, William “Buddy” Wantland and Keith Wantland.

 

Sharon was a member of the United Methodist Churches. She attended Trinity Community Fellowship in Farmer City, IL. Sharon was a very active in the churches she attended. She worked for the Signal Depot in Decatur, IL, the DeLand-Weldon Schools, Weldon Co-op, Illinois Power, and Pearl Trucking. Sharon was incredibly proud of her husband and sons by working for the Fire Service.
