J. Kent Hickerson, 84, of Clinton, IL passed away 12:29 PM September 30, 2024 at Cedar Valley Hospice, Waterloo, IA.

Services will be 10 AM, Monday, October 21, 2024 at First Christian, Clinton, IL with Ernie Harvey, Jr. and Chris Hintsman officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Park Cemetery, Clinton, IL. Visitation will be 2 – 4 PM, Sunday, October 20, 2024 at Calvert Funeral Home, Clinton, IL.

Memorials may be directed to the Little Galilee Christian Camp or Cedar Valley Hospice House, Waterloo, IA.

Kent was born June 24, 1940 in Vandalia, IL the son of Ronald T. and LaVonne (Reese) Hickerson. He married Merla Phelps June 9, 1963 in Walnut Hill, IL. She passed away March 6, 2015.

Survivors include his son, Jeff Hickerson, Clinton, IL; daughter, Jill (Dustin) Ridenour, Independence, IA; four grandchildren, Nicholas (Taylor) Hickerson, Shari Hickerson, Reese Ridenour and Rumor Ridenour; two great grandchildren, Archer Hickerson and Riley Hickerson; along with his sister, Bonnie Lichtenberger, Gold Canyon, AZ.

He was preceded in death his parents, brothers, Ronald Dean Hickerson and Max Reese Hickerson.

Kent was a past minister and long-time member of the Clinton First Christian Church.
