Marion “Rob” Robb 97 of Argenta, IL passed away 8:25 A.M. September 12, 2024 at his family residence, Argenta, IL.

 

Masonic services followed by funeral services will be 2 PM Monday, September 16, 2024 at the Calvert Funeral Home, Argenta, IL with Jan Dial officiating. Burial will follow at Friends Creek Cemetery, Argenta, IL with military honors. Visitation will be 1 – 2 PM Monday at the funeral home.

 

Memorials may be directed to the Bridge Church Fellowship Food Pantry.

 

Marion was born February 15, 1927 in Columbus, Ohio the son of Marion and Margaret (Rayl) Robb. He married Melvina “Mel” Vaughn May 29, 1955 in Mackinaw, IL. She passed away March 27, 2020.

 

Survivors include his children, Cathie (Lonnie) Askren, Walstonburg, NC; and Melvin “Mike” (Charla) Robb, Moweaqua, IL; 3 grandchildren Jenny, Eric, and Lindzi and 6 great-grandchildren.

 

Marion was preceded in death by his parents, and a sister, Jackie Neal.

 

Marion was a U.S. Navy veteran serving during WWII at the same time as his father and later during the Korean Conflict. He had worked for Caterpillar and retired after 35 years. He loved to fish and hunt. He enjoyed bicycling, dancing, and following the Argenta Bombers sports, especially football.
