Steve W. Evans 78 of Clinton, Illinois passed away 4:43 PM August 26, 2024 at his family residence, Clinton, Il.

A time to celebrate Steve’s life will be 11 AM, Saturday, September 14, 2024 at the Heyworth Christian Church, Heyworth, Illinois with Candi Evans officiating. Private Burial will be at Long Point Cemetery, Wapella, Illinois. A time to visit with family and friends will be 9 – 11 AM, Saturday at the church. The family has entrusted Calvert Funeral Home, Clinton, Il. with arrangements.

Memorials may be directed to the Alzheimer’s Association or a Charity of the Donor’s Choice.

Steve was born December 22, 1945 in Lincoln, IL the son of Weldon and Rose Mary (Kruse) Evans. He married Darlene Kehl November 26, 1964 in Normal, IL.  He later married Nova Wise January 7, 2004 in Clinton, IL.

Survivors include his wife, Nova Evans, Clinton, IL; children: Stephanie (Daniel) Brown, Racine, WI; Candi Evans, Heyworth, IL; Steve (Maggie) Evans, Bloomington, IL; and Jimmy (Sarah) Evans, Danvers, IL; step-children:  Greg (Connie) Talley, Clinton, IL; and Crystal (Mike) Leach, Clinton, IL; 13 grandchildren:  Alyssa, Tiffany, Ethan, Parker, Lily, Ella, Isaac, Dalton, Hannah, Hayleigh, Cannon, Emmaleigh, and Logan.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one stepson, Travis Talley; and sister, Joy Upton.

Steve had a passion for auctioneering.  He was an auctioneer for over 50 years as well as owning the Country Boy Stores.  Steve enjoyed farming, but he especially loved spending time with his family.
