Doris “Poge” Alwood 75 of Clinton, IL passed away 1 PM August 26, 2024 at OSF St. Joseph Medical Center, Bloomington, IL.

No services are planned at this time. The family has entrusted Calvert Funeral Home, Clinton, IL with cremation rites.

Doris was born April 4, 1949 in Clinton, IL the daughter of Lloyd and Louisa (Matheny) Mandrell. She married Charles E. “Charlie” Alwood June 22, 1968 in Clinton, IL. He passed away February 8, 2022.

Survivors include her children, Michael (Kathleen Alcorn) Alwood, Springfield, IL, Susie (Steve Starkey) Schmid, Clinton, IL, and Claude (Gala) Alwood, Weldon, IL; 9 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren; twin brothers, Ollie (Kay) Mandrell, Clinton, IL & Charlie Mandrell, Clinton, IL.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, and three brothers. 

Doris took pride in working for the school district with the children.
