Thomas L. Thompson, Sr., 88 of Clinton, IL, passed 8:54 AM June 12, 2024 at Carle Foundation Hospital, Urbana, IL.

Graveside Services with Military Honors will be 10 AM, Monday, June 17, 2024 at Oak Park Cemetery, Clinton, IL with Mark Boehm officiating. There will be no visitation.  The family requests casual attire. Calvert Funeral Home, Clinton, IL is in charge of arrangements.

Memorials may be directed to the Thomas Thompson Memorial Fund c/o Dee Dee Rentmeister.

Thomas was born December 25, 1935 in Decatur, IL the son of Sylvo and Opal (Lancaster) Thompson. He married Nancy Ann Bismark December 21, 1956 in Clinton, IL. She passed away February 13, 2012.

Survivors include his children, Tommy L. Thompson, Jr., Sturgeon Bay, WI, Mary (Rusty) Fenner, Clinton, IL, and Dee Dee Rentmeister, Clinton, IL; grandchildren, Brittiany Thompson, Clinton, IL, Shelbi Russell, Lincoln, IL, Ashley Flores, Denver City, TX; six great grandchildren:  Sierra Sickles, Kinzey Sickles, Maleah Russell, Kaelyn Russell, Jace Russell, and Luna Flores; and sister, Joyce Wade, Matteson, IL also survives.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Thomas was a U.S. Army Veteran.  He retired from Revere Copper & Brass in Clinton, IL and was a member of the Eagles Lodge.  Thomas enjoyed cowboy movies and chasing trains.
